if I were to stay NA would it be wise to get a high stall, say 3500 for a daily driver? or would it be wise to get 4:10s instead of 3:90s but stay stock converter since 1st gear is short anyways? I want maximum acceleration from a dead stop, not too worried about going 140 everyday or anything but still want a decent ammount of pull up top. Also how do gears change while shifting manually? will shorter gears make the (1-2-3) useless because of the ratio change? and how do they effect driving with OD off?

I am in the same boat, 3.73 gears so I am thinking 3200 stall (PI Stallion Multi Disc), i do plan on adding a twin screw SC and I do race frequently (twice a month), the TCI Streetfighter 3000 is cheaper but I heard it is just a re-configured stock converter Plus those extra 200 rpms of extra stall will make me run a 11.9 !!! I run a 3000 stall converter with 3.73's and a SC running 10 psi. This setup works well. I think going to a 3500 stall wouldn't change your drivablity that much and you would be able to launch at a higher rpm, getting better times. I had 4.10's, stock converter and the SC- 1st gear was worthless. A higher stall TC would help that out for driving around town. I changed the gears the same time I changed the TC so I never found out.
