Back in the days when I was a teenager (2 weeks after the earths crust cooled) I had Thrush glasspacks on my '65. Back then all the straight liner's used glass packs and the road racers used a more modest muffler (i.e Turbos). To me....you cant beat the deep throated sound of horsepower that comes with a glasspack. Stand next to a car with them and your whole body shakes....stand next to turbos and your feet get a little tingly. GO WITH THE GLASSPACKS!!

The glasspacks will sound great, I had them on mine when I bought. People were always telling me to slow down even when I was only 20 mph because it sounded damn loud. I miss those days.

when i was a little kid, i lived in this small suburb court thing,   and every morning this guy a few houses up from me would start up his classic ford truck, (was a nice alarm clock!) and just about every time this old uptight british lady would come out and start screming her head off at him to stop making so much noise. the car was just kinda idleing and warming up! haha.
anyway, he had glasspacks!

That's exactly what my town is like. All there is in my town are house wives driving Audis, BMW's, Mercedes' and Porsches while talking on their cell phones, while drinking Starbucks, while doing their make, while planning their next vacation.

Same here, except the guy in my town with the Goat also has a 69 Camaro with huge slicks on the back.

I have not heard a mustang with glasspacks because EVERYONE around here has Flowmasters or turbo mufflers.  To me, glasspacks belong on pickup trucks with big ol' tips.  All the cowboys, including myself have them on the ranch trucks.  To me, they sound like a ranch truck, but that is just an association thing.

Question:  Why do some glasspacks pop at a high pitch and some glasspacks pop/rumble at a low pitch?  Is it the length of the muffler, size of pipe, size of tip, or what?  A buddy had glasspacks on his old 7.3 preturbo diesel.  It popped at a high pitch and sounded like poo.  My 351 truck had glasspacks with big tips and it was much lower.  Not sure how these things work.

Why not just get a screwdriver and poke some hole in your muffler, it will sound the same!!!!!!!! IMO Cherrybombs or Glasspacks remind me of a old busted up chevy truck diving down a dirt road.Is that what you want your car to sound like???? Louder doesn’t mean faster.

dont listen to them...it made my car sound like a nice old hot rod IMO.  where i live we have this little event called Hot August Nights and when i start my car i think it sounds like a t-bucket or something similar.  Theyre pretty cheap too (well $80 for basically your whole exhaust not including headers).  If you want them and want to make old people mad then i say get them!
