Default Another exhaust question

So, I'm running stock setup except cut off the stock mufflers and piped it out. I was thinking about getting an O/R X and put in some 12 or 18" resonators (dynomax) at the mid muffler spot. Will I be cancelling out the benefits of takin the cats off by putting the resonators on? And also, if I decided to keep the cats on and put the resonators in, how significantly will it quiet the exhaust down? Thanks

If you get an O/R X and do the resonators you should see a gain... The cats are restrictive... The resonators will just help with sound and not affect back pressure like the cats do... Keeping the cats and adding resonators will quiet it down a little...

Default RE: Another exhaust question

Resonators are good, but I would assume you would want some sort of muffler and straight piping combination rather than resonator to straight exhaust.??? maybe? I would consider a mid muffler set up from pypes or just take out the cats, and put something like a Mac axle back set up on the car. It would sound very good.

But to answer your question, You would still see a gain if you put resonators on instead of cats... +1, cats are restrictive.
