i get about 20 - 22 city driving with a heavy foot and alot of idle time, going to VA beach next weekend for my first semi pro football game of the 07 season, ill post my highway MPG when i get back
anyone in the VA beach area wanna see a good semi pro football game for under $10 come see the VA Beach Crusaders take on the Arbutus Big Red (my team) pm me if you wanna meet and talk cars, my Stang will be there all weekend........
Nah.. being somewhat conservative in a city like San Fran I get about 13 14 with 91 octane. Used to avg 11 or so with 87. So I could see 9 if im on it everywhere. It's weird I get such bad mileage in the city, but I get about 26 27 on the highway.

ugh im getting 9mpg.. i think somethings wrong...well.. besides my heavy foot every 5 seconds. lol
Our 2000 F250 super cab, V10 w/ 6" lift get 12mpg!!! You had to have miscalculated otr something.
Getting on it(SO MUCH FUN)kills mileage but 9 mpg!!My worst tank was 16 mpg(around town) and best (2000 mile trip) was 29.1 mpg on Interstate 81 in Va.
I once had a guy tell me that my mom was incorrect telling me you could draft and save fuel off a big rig, but I could feel a rig actually pull my mustang once when I got in close, but I never see people drafting them here and I don't know why. You don't have to be very close to the thing to feel the wind pull on your car.
Anyway I just went on a trip and my meter is saying 23.6mpg but I'm not sure if that is mixed with my commute driving or what. My trip meter said 15 miles on it at one point, I'm not sure how all that stuff works. I guess it'll tell me in the owner's manual. But man you can get 32 out of this car? sheesh you know how they say those old vw bugs get good fuel economy, well... the best I've seen those old things can do is 32mpg otherwise you'd have to start doing mods to the engine and lose a lot of horsepower. There was a guy once who took a vw bug engine and took two pistons out and was getting about 40mpg from it running on 2 cylinders maximum speed is like 45mph. Definitely not the choice car any more for mileage especially when you can buy a small acura and it is printed right on it that it gets 32mpg highway. mid 70's vw bugs should only get around 28mpg as I'm getting 25mpg out of a modified 1600cc engine.
I'm impressed even if it gets 20mpg because it is a lot heavier car than a vw bug and it is moving more parts. Usually I get 19.9-21mpg with mixed city/highway driving. Some people only get 18.0. I wonder what the GT gets.
The ONLY way to truly measure MPG is to fill the tank each time and reset the trip. I do this and record mileage in every car I've ever owned. A little anal, but it lets you know that things are going ok.
I've only filled my new ride twice. The first was all highway, and I got 27.9. The second tank was a solid mix of driving and was 22.3. I live in Iowa, so there is barely any idling time. Zero traffic is great!
well when i am in the town, i get about 17 or so cus im constantly trying to get up to 60 in a record time. lol. no ticket yet. And on the highway i max out at around 28.

On my recent road trip I got 25 mpg combo of city/highway and 27 highway only with cruise control on 70 and the top down. I think I can do better with some Marvel Mystery Oil and higher octane. I am well pleased.
Supposed to be 16 gallon, but the Miles to Empty display seems to consider empty somewhere around 15 gallons used, probably just as a precaution. One day it said I had 28 miles to empty and i figured it must only have about a gallon left, but it only took 14 to fill.
Not long after I bought my car, I got it filled up, reset all the trip computers and got back on the freeway. The average mpg on the display kept climbing until it reached over 40mpg. As nice as that would be I knew it couldnt be right. As it turned out, the gas attendant didnt put my cap on all the way, causing the incorrect reading. (In Oregon you cant pump your own gas)

I dont really know why its a law but I should know beacause I get asked all the time since I manage a store with a gas station. The voters have rejected the idea of becoming self serve, maybe for the convenience, and to provide more low end jobs. I think New Jersey doesnt allow self serve either. I find it is nice not to have to get out of the car when getting fuel, but at the same time I hate letting someone else mess with my car.

I know that in New Jersey you cant pump your own, to provide more jobs, but i live in Baltimore and couldnt imagine having someone else pump my gas, plus tipping them after filling up with gas prices being as high as they are would jus irratate me more.
But anyway im back from my football game in VA Beach, we lost 32-23, but the trip was nice. 250 mile trip one way, and i made it there in a little over a half tank of gas, but i figured it out to be around 33 mpg, all highway, with a little traffic at one point, but hardly anything to affect the MPG......
Next road trip.......have to check the schedule.......
