Grin and bear it!
Be glad it's not pollen season yet where you are

yeah...that comes with the territory of owning a black car. if its just really light dust on it, then you might want to invest in a california duster. i love mine. and yeah, pollen season sucks, it just started here really bad last week. i dust my car 3-4 times a day.

A california duster is a must. My last car was a black 04 Grand am GT. I could not stand the pollen...and dirt...and water marks it would get on it. The duster will help out a lot. Now...with a vista blue GT it really is not all the different. The dirt shows....but not as much as the black. I still use the duster on a daily basis just to keep the car looking good.

there is not much you can do to keep it clean unless you wash it all the time but you can get a quick detailer that will make it quicker to clean

wrap it in plastic.......first experience with a black car? Old saying about black...."wash it in the morning, dirty by the afternoon" Wait til pollen season hits, you'll have a brain anurism.

for the OP if you get a california duster make sure it is just dust on your car and not dirt i made the mistake before and it created alot of swirls in the paint if it is dirt use a quick detailer

That's just part of the territory of owning a black car. I use this wax, and it does a good job of repelling stuff. http://corrosionx.com/rejex.html
Also, if you just washed your car, and have that wax on, if it rains, all the dirt just washes off and the car dries pretty nicely.

LOL. Ya NEVER get used to it. I had a Black Bronco II. Black cars need to be garaged or covered when not moving. Ya need a fireman to open the doors on all black cars on hot sunny days!!!!

Use OD's Waterless wash with carnuba w/ a good mf-towel

http://www.obsessivedetail.com/carwashanddetailers.html

easy for between washes when you have a light layer of dust on it.

A car cover is a must have for a black car. The day after we bought the stang, i went over to walmart and picked up a great car cover made by "Budge" for $20. It fits perfectly, washes up nicely in the washing machine and best of all, keeps all the crap that blows around in the air off of your freshly washed stang.

Its not waterproof though, so i cant rely on it to keep the car dry in a rainstorm! Hell, come to think of it, if i wanted to keep er dry, i could just cover the car cover with a tarp lol.

I thought you were being kind of a jerk with the MF towel, till I thought 'oh he means micbrofiber'.

Duster worked great on my last car a really dark blue so give that a shot.

hehe, I thought he meant "MF" towel as well, not MicroFiber. Funny stuff, funny stuff.

Black cars suck when dirty (which is almost all the time) but look the best when clean

I use a wax called Bootywax and its made by some local guys in NC and it works awsome with repelling dirt and the shine last a long time. I waxed my car last summer with this stuff and have been washing my car since and everytime i wash it everyone thinks i waxed it, just last week my boss asked me if i waxed my car again! These guys just came to my store the other day with a new product which is Bootyprep which is like a rubbing compound but has no grit but the cleaning power of compound with grit. Im gonna get a bottle of that and do the prep then wax next time and see what it does but anyways the wax alone repells ALOT of dirt! Im gonna look into one of these cali dusters too they sound cool and that dudes inbetween washes cleaner thing looked nice! great thread many tips here for black car owners!

My car in this pic in my sig was before i waxed it, The pic is when i first bought my car, i will get photos with it waxed up with this BootyWax!! LOL great name for a wax!

Just washed mine yesterday. Took it out for an hour long drive. Came home and noticed that already there was a noticeable layer of dust on the hood.

Don't know what I'd do w/o the california duster.

Yea my car is the same way but that is a price you pay to have the hottest color car! just wax and dust i use miguires(spelled wrong)detailer. wait til you drive it on the throughway and you get chips in the bumper. that really makes me mad! lol and pollen season too kinda heats me but yea also invest in a cover for overnights if your not driving it.

I have a black Subaru with gold metalic if you can imagine this.[:@]

The No Rinse is great for wiping down the car between washings.
With a black car, this might be every day.
