Anybody have any luck, good or bad, on a set of front and rear sway bars? I have an 06 4.0L and I'd like to stiffen it up a bit on turns, etc. Not sure I want to get into springs yet, just thought possibly a set of stiffer sway bars might help. The stock bar in the front is really small diameter, I got a look at a GT the other day and was surprised at how thick the front bar was on it... Thanks!
All stangs have one in the front. The bars on the GT are thicker front and back compared to the V6. Only PP V6 stangs have a rear bar. I got a set of GT takeoffs from http://www.newtakeoff.com/ pretty cheap and I am very happy with my choice to do so. Also check ebay sometimes there are good deals, and v6mustangstuff.com
Hey Nick, did you just do the sway bars or any other suspension changes? I'm just looking at the sway bars, wonder if that is a good idea to just do those, front and rear...
There is a big difference, and I just have sway bars...nothing more. The suspension is a lot tighter now, and I think its almost a little too much. It handles turnes and off ramps a lot better and I stay in my seat now lol. The car acts like it needs wider tires to stay planted...just one way I can explain it. I also have a custom strut bar I made, but I don't think that makes a measurable difference.
Cool, thanks bro. What tires do you have? I was lucky enough to get into the GT tire and wheel deal thru Saleen, got the entire set of 4 tires/rims for $299. Byt the time I saw the ad in Mustang Monthly, Saleen really didn't want to honor this deal, I think they were seeing how much more money they could make from those tires/rims. Now, you can't touch them for almost $700. Anyway, that is the tires I have, I don't think they are that much wider than the stock tires that came with my V6, but not sure.

I did the same exact thing for $299 back in october of 06... soo happy I cought that deal also.
So, I'm looking at my car last night and noticed my front sway bar is about 3/4 or 1 inch thick! Isn't that like the thickness of a GT swaybar? I was expecting to see something like 3/8 inch or something... my car should not have any additions like that, it isn't the pony package or anything, when I bought it she was just a stock V6...
2007, FRPP CAI and tune, FRPP Duals kit, FRPP handling pack, JBA shorties, Charcoal Bullitts, and those awesome Ford all weather floormats that started it all.
V6 models come with a 28.6mm front swaybar, GT are equipped with a 34mm front swaybar. I've read 20 and 22mm for the GT rear. No clue what the PP has under it.

Eibach makes front and back sway bars now with a conversion kit for V6 (as opposed to the first ones I got that don't fit my car due to the fact the GT has a different mount in the rear than the V6).
My '05 has the complete Saleen Racecraft suspension with the stock GT rear bar (which was also installed on Pony pack cars). Drives a bit like a slot car even after going from the Saleen 20's to bullet 17's with stock Pirelli's.
