I can see why they bash american cars. They are more into the sophisticated, high tech, and luxury types. The mustang is about bang-for-the-buck, and brute force.(Not sure if it's more expensive over there? Which would hurt the appeal of the mustang) They are used to cars with higher quality than american cars(I.E. Higher price) I personally agree with them about cheap plastic interiors....BUT I don't want to pay for higher quality materials. So, cheap plastic works for me. It seems they prefer their horsepower on a silver platter with crumpets and tea. I prefer my horsepower cheap and beast-like. Two different mind-sets, like apples & oranges. They especially like to poke at the solid rear axle.(Hey, it does it's job, and it doesn't cost an arm and a leg. The S197 Solid rears are actually pretty good for a live axle) The simple, basic design of the mustang is part of it's character and charm. It makes no excuses, it doesn't apologize for being rough. It just goes fast. It's a man's car. It's not supposed to be civil. Although, I seem to remember them complimenting the power on the GT, and GT500. They can say what they want to about the handling, ride, etc. But when they stand on the gas, they can't help but to smile. Thus, the attraction to the mustang. I wouldn't call the Top Gear guys tools, as much as I would call them jaded.(As for the V6/GT mixup.... hey, everyone makes mistakes. It's not like they can tell the difference between different mustangs)
