Ok so my girl likes to sing.... I mean LOVES to sing.
She sings in the bath, at home, in the car... everywhere.

Well she had been asking me if we could get a game where she could sing.
So yesterday I finally took her to get one and we got Guitar Hero for the PS3.
I thought it was a hundred bucks but when I brought it up to the counter it was 169 plus tax.
I really never thought of this as a game I would like and I was thinking,

"Oh great ... almost 200 bucks for
a game that I won't even play, and she will probably get tired of in a week."

Nevertheless she is the sweetest thing and I thought about how hard she had been working lately, etc.
so I bought it.

We get home and it's a pretty nice deal for the price after all I'm thinking, since it has a guitar, mic, and drums.
(even though I'll never use it.)
She had her nieces over and they all played and although her nieces were horrible at the game...
I got great laughs watching my girl sing and move like she was a freakin contestant on American Idol.
She was so into it and I was laughing my ass off. (Not being mean or making fun, just that she was SOOO into it, btw she can sing!)

So after they got done I figured what the heck, I'll give it a shot.
So I picked up the guitar and started playing.
WOW...this game is pretty addictive.
It's a load of fun to play songs that you've heard growing up. I don't play guitar either and I know its not nearly as complicated as a real guitar but I felt myself feeling a bit rocked. I especially liked playing some Beastie Boys.

To sum it up...I liked it and turns out I will be using this game.
I do wish they had some Guns n Roses on that game though!

I didn't know Guitar Hero had vocals.

We play Rock Band. And... it ROCKS!

My kids love it, they play all the time.

you can DL some decent content. i grabbed the metallica pack and its badass. other good tunes i can think of real quick is faith no more and flyleaf (both included with the game)

i hate the covers though. if they can use the rights of the song to play a copy why cant they use the original. like the rush tunes and a couple others. that just pisses me off.

I wish you could DL the crap onto a disc and then put the info on the PS3 like you can with the system updates.
That way I wouldn't have to move my damn PS3 across town and hook it up to the net to dl crap.

Yeah, I love the games. I think it's a rule that EVERYONE hates Guitar Hero and Rock Band and thinks they are "gay" until they play, and then immediately, I have not known a single person that didn't enjoy it. They are very addicting and quite fun.

I still want to see some freakin Guns N Roses for this game.
I have no idea how you could leave them out of such a game.

What the hell is wrong with you?
They were an iconic band in the 80's to 90's.
They have groups from all era's and there's no way Guns N Roses should be left out for their time.
Their 1987 album Appetite For Destruction is the second highest-selling debut album of all-time.

GNR was like the Cream of their time. No way did they suck. They were the biggest band of their time. And guitar hero has a GNR song, possibly more.

They say new songs are up every week for Rock Band.
I hope they get some on there.

Hahahahahahahahahahahah.

That was funny. They were the "biggest band of their time" for what like 6 months?

Sorry, but I'm opinionated, and my opinion is that GnR sucks. My wife likes 'em though.

The reason I don't think your comparison to cream holds any water is:
The musicians in cream went on to forge long-term careers as masters in the music business and their songs were iconic rock songs of the era. Guns N Roses? Not so much.

Hey how about you compare them to Led Zeppelin next? That would be really funny.

A much better comparison to the "Cream of ther time" (I guess) would have been Metallica. They were iconic and huge and influenced nearly every metal band since.

A lot of bands aren't on there because they don't allow their music to be licensed for it. Since Slash is a big part of GHIII, on the cover, a boss, and a playable character, I wouldn't be surprised if they have the rights to GnR's music locked into the GH franchise not allowing them to be in Rock Band. Go get GH if you want more songs. Only problem is, GH's guitar works in Rock Band, but Rock Band's guitar doesn't work in GH, so you'd have to get a GH guitar to play GH, but since Rock Band only has one and you can play bass and guitar in the game, a second doesn't hurt.

they have to do that because no one knows where the original separated master tracks are. For the Rush songs, Mississippi Queen and all the others, all that exists of the original recordings are single track masters. Its just he song and thats it. No seperate guitar track, no seperate vocals track, no seperate drum track, no seperate bass track, all of which they need for you to be albe to "play" the original song.

that said, I still find the vocals for Rock Band's version of Mississippi Queen to be horrendous
