I know alot of people have probably posted this question before but i still want new opinions and/or facts. I have a 2000 v6 mustang auto and wanted to know what would be the best exhaust system for my vehicle. I was thinking the borla dual cat back exhaust system because ive heard is one of the best brands out there. But i havent heard of alot of mustangs having this system. i heard of alot of people having flowmaster brand and mac brand more than anything. So my question is which is better and which one will produce a better sound? My plans as of right now are borla exhaust system mac LTs headers with an o/r H pipe. Also now that i remember which is a better mid pipe the o/r H pipe or the o/r X pipe. I would really appreciate the help and comments price isnt an issue cuz i know borla is an expensive brandso just let me know. Here a link to the system i wanna get http://www.ninosport.com/Borla-Cat-b...mp;category=99

Well i cant help you out on the choosing what exaust is better but i can give you some advise on the midpipe. The o/r H gives you a nice muscle car sound that everyone likes to hear. "In my oppinion" for the the o/r X from what ive saw from some videos it sounds more exotic sounding but thats my oppinion about it. Performance wise i dont think its to much of a difference compared to the others, maybe X maybe a lil better cause it equals out the flow but not entirly sure. Good luck man.

Honestly, I think you're wasting your money with Borla. Hell yes, they're a great brand but a little too expensive for what you want, in my opinion. Are you looking for best sound or performance? I'm about to put on a full custom exhaust on my 99 v6 after I get my tax return (damn taxes) and here is my setup. Keep in mind, I plan on force inducting it soon after.
{Dual exhaust; no mid pipe}
Mac ceramic coated long tube headers
2.5 inch pipes
02 sensor extensions
MIL delete
No cats
Force pro series mufflers
3 inch tips
Now again, in my opinion, you don't need the X pipe if you still want to do your version of an exhaust system. The reason being is, that our cars are even firing while the GT's are odd. They are the ones that need the X pipe to even things out. For Borlas, I'd replace them with either Force mufflers or Flowmasters but that is your own opinion on what to do. I'm not trying to turn you away from Borlas, but, there are cheaper mufflers out there that sound somewhat close to them. I hope I helped you in some way. Have a wicked awesome day and good luck!

thats the exact set up im going with. only how YOU gonna use that setup without your force pros?
That the 96' with a 2000 engine and all sorts of engine mods.
I used the stock 96' Headers on that engine and had a 94/95 BBK X-Pipe modified to fit the manifolds. I dont have my Borla's on there now but you can get an idea of what a free flowing system might sound like.
My Borla's are nice but toned the car WAY down so if you have cats in the mix too then it will be even quieter. They also add a lot of backpressure which other mufflers like the Super40's wouldnt have so much backpressure.
Overall I like the sound, it does drone a lot and overall tone isnt that loud. You wont break the 92db sound laws anywhere.
A.) Get a true dual setup. In other words, don't get a V6 speciffic, they go off the stock Y pipe and sound like butt.
B.) Get a V6 mid pipe.
C.) Get a GT catback system.
That is all. There are more and more vids coming up in the nex exhaust sticky, so go hit it up and listen to what our members already have. Disreguard mine, mine is just an example vid, and is not a V6.
so what your saying as long as i have a mid pipe(h pipe or x pipe) i can get an cat back exhaust thats is ususally for a v8? Im trying to get performance and a nice almost v8 like sound. what are some set up suggetions? Cuz i guess borla is out of the question im guessing ill go with something like flowmasters or mac and what series would be best? I know im asking alot of questions but i just want whats best for my vehicle i dont wanna put a exhaust system that will sound weak and ricey. Im for sure getting the Long tube headers and i guess a mac o/r H pipe now i just have to choose what kinda of system or series like i said i want whats best for the car. I would gladly apreciate anyones help

Yeah, get the longtubes and an o/r h-pipe fo sho - even if it takes several months to save up the dough. You'll need around $1k for the longtubes, mufflers, mid-pipe, tips, o2 extensions (btw, I had to get 4 extensions - the mid-pipe o2's wouldn't safely reach), MIL eliminators, and the install of everything including the headers. Get some Flowmaster 40s, Super 40s, or the Force Pro Series. DON'T get a straight-thru glass pack muffler, they sound like ass on our 6s. Good luck bro.
