Default 3 inch wheel studs

Hi every one. I just brought a 1996 cobra with 3 inch wheel studs on all four hubs ( person was running (American Racing Wheels) I want to put my 03 cobra rims on 17x9---17x10.5. Do i have to remove the studs and put standard size studs in or is there a way to still use the 3 inch studs and make it look good. And if so, what special tools will i need to remove the studs and put new ones back in?
Thank you

You dont have to remove the studs if you use open ended lugs. If you want to remove the studsyou will just need a hammer to nock out the old ones. You can hammer the newstud in as far as you can with the hammer, just be sure not to damage or bend it in any way. Take and impact gun and an old wrench that fits around the studd loosely. Grease up the threads on the studs(so you dont get burs)and the use and extra lugnut and impact the studd till it seats. You will be good to go.

Thank you Bones. I am going to remove the long studs and replace them with the standard studs. Your tip on the double lug nuts will work when sucking them in, I will be able to loosen the first nut after they seat.
Thanks again
