I have a 2007 Shelby GT 500 and I am looking for cold air intakes (CAI) that would be street legal in California.  Does anyone know which brand of CAIs would be legal for my Shelby in California?

It really doesn't matter what make you go with I'm pretty sure they're all legal in CA, and if not then there are alot of people out there who are breaking the law

Just to be on the safe side, Make sure it comes with a C.A.R.B. number........

I did a search and these websites are POOR! Most don't say if they are approved or not, have little tiny photos and rarely show the intakes installed in a Mustang!

some websites show which ones are CARB approved. Brenspeed doesn't say what is or isn't
I was checking and saw
CARB approved for the S&B,

CARB exempt for the K&N FIPK, the K&N 69 Typhoon series (CARB exempt, except for 2007 Mustangs)

These are "Street Legal" - Airaid

I'm assuming the Ford Intake Package is approved

All in all I think you probably have to call these places and ask if there is a CARB Approved on it. If it's Pending or Exempt then they probably are not legal for street use in CA.

Looks like the FRPP kits are 50-state legal, at least according to the 2008 online catalog.  I think it's EO #D-418-9 that covers the GT500 upgrade packs.

Steeda Intakes (same as Ford Racing) are CARB approved and come with a CARB decal to place on the intake.
