Hey guys,...

Just had a winning bid on Ebay for a Stang GT front and rear kit with bushings and brackets last night.  Got all of them for $91, plus $49 shipping.  Total was $140.  What do you think?  Did I get a decent price or did I get ripped?

Also, I will bring it to someone to have them installed on my 05 non PP.  What do you think would be a resonable quote as far as labor and parts to have them installed?  If anyone else did this before, please let me know.  Just want to make sure that my local Midas or my Ford dealer is not gonna try to rip me off with a 4 hour labor charge, when it's really a 1 or 2 hour job....  I'm not all that handy with tools, so I wouldn't know whether I'm being taken for a ride.....  Thanks in advance guys!

I got a set about 2 months ago for $85 , then again the seller wasn't far from where I lived... so I saved money picking it up myself.

Shipping seems a little steep... I'd say the actual price of the set was good.

To be honest, the rear should be a 15-25 minute job for the typical wrencher... even i did it in 20 minutes. the front might take about twice as long. I haven't done the front yet though, so don't quote me on that lol.

Sounds like a fair deal. Costs around $90 rear, and $50 front from v6mustangstuff.  You didn't mention the bolts and nuts for the rear.  Are those included?  If not, you'll need to buy them before you get started.  You can reuse the front hardware, but if your pony didn't come with a rear, it doesn't have the 6 bolts/lock nuts you'll need to install it.

Thanks Dan... I figured that it wasn't too bad.  Got them from Diversified Marketing  (seller was newtakeoff.com).  I just checked the newtakeoff.com website.  If I bought it directly on the web from them, the front and rear sway bar plus shipping would have ben like 220 or so....  So I guess that was not too bad.  I wish I could pick it up them... Man... you find nice stuff on Ebay but everyone kills ya' on the shipping...  That's how they make their money... I guess.

As far as the install time.. Thanks for the info.  I will keep that in mind while finding a place to go to... Much appreciated!

Hey Mac...

Yeah, you're right.. I will have to buy the bolts etc, for the rear, as I do not have a swaybar there right now..  Wish I had a list of things to get from the local steal-ership.  I'll have to search around for the list of parts that I will need. Thanks man !

The front was easier for me.  My FRPP kit didn't come with the stock style captive bolts for the brackets on the axle.  It was a challenge holding the lock nuts with an open end wrench through the tiny opening at the bottom.  The front was just a straight up replacement.

Here are some part#s..............these were the parts I bought.....

There is a line-------------------below someone posted numbers that were changed...

But, I am sure you will get what you need with these part#'s.....

Rear Sways…
upper link bolt (2) w708737*s439
upper link nuts (2) w711029*s900 (These were not available at Ford, ½ nuts and washers) Ford won’t carry extremely common nut and bolts, this is what I was told?, went to Home Depot…
bracket nuts (4) w520213*s440
bracket bolts snap in style w707007*s439 (new #)

Front Sways…
Just swap out bar, use existing nut and bolts…
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Just went thru the same issues with finding parts.
For the rear:
Part #W711029-S900 Clip Nut is now listed at Ford as #W520214-S440 it is $1.95 ea. You only need 2 but you have to buy 4 in the package.

#W707007-S439 is listed as  #W711368-S439 also (Clip Stud, 4 required)
The other parts are all valid numbers. When I ordered all the bolts it came to $24

Seems kinda steep and that shipping charge is out the door.
I got mine off eBay for $50 shipped to my door.
Front and rear GT sways. New take-off front end links
and rear LCAs to boot.

You will need items 1, 2, 3, and 6. Item 2 has been changed to a new part #.
$44 for the hardware from the Stealership. They didnt give me the total until
the items were ordered and I went to pick them up.

Get the poly bushings while you are at it. It sure firms up the suspension.

Nah, not really.  Everyone finds a steal every once in a while.  Ripped is paying the dealership price for those parts.  Ripped is paying the labor prices to install those fairly simple bolt ons.  But some people aren't very confident about wrenching on their cars.  I can understand that.

    Hence the LOL.
I quess time is money and I spent an awful
amount of time on eBay to find that steal.
Maybe waited two months and 100s of auctions
for GT front/rear take-off sways that cheap.
No one wanted all the extra stuff that was included.
So I kinda got ripped if you look at it that way. LOL

I may be wrong but the way I understand it is E-Bay gets a % of the selling price but not of the shipping cost.  That's why you see some items for a very low price but a large shipping cost.  Does that sound right to anyone out there?

    Right as rain.
They also get a precentage of the starting bid amount
hence the birth of the $0.01 auctions.
There are ways around it all on eBay.
