my mom was in the navy seabees. Engineering for the navy of some sort. She got a "brass balls" award.. its two brass balls on a wood plaque, lol. Got pretty high up in the ranks, then had to leave due to second baby being born.

I was in the Air Force for 12 years.  First as a Fire Control mechanic on a B-52 then as a Boom Operator and Instructor got out in 86.  My dad was in Air Force and my sister was in Marines 4 years.  She has one son still in Marines 3 tours to Iraq and one son got out after 4 years in Marines.

I salute all of our military who have served, serving and will serve.  It is not something to be taken lightly.  Even if you think what you are doing sucks, you are still doing something that many people won't do for one reason or another.  Be proud you served.

Dad and Grandad both served war-time for the USCG.... Dad was on 2 cutters for 'nam and grandad was on a carrier and a destroyer I believe for WWII.

Hey at least your leaving after the wet season.  When that mud dries on your boots its like concrete.  But have fun during the heat, I did.
