running speaker wires through door 08 GT

ok, i need some serious help. im really having a tough time trying to get my 12awg speaker wires through the grommet for the drivers door, havent even touched the passenger one yet.

after fighting it, i realized it was a harness, not a channel, so i cant run a wire THROUGH it. i cant even get a pair of snips in there to cut a notch in the opening to fit.

has anyone done this? any tips?

i got the wire through the rubber grommet, but i cant get it into the cabin!!

yeah i had an insane amount of trouble trying to get this to work. you have to pry out that grey piece that the wires are running through. then you can run the wire through that and into the kick.
the grey piece isnt actually part of the wire harness, so you can unclip it from the rest of it. then just run the wire through it and set it back in place and put the gromet back over it.

really? it looked kinda like a junction connector, like a distribution block, i dunno im having a hard time describing it. i didnt want to disconnect the terminal for fears of never getting it back, lol.

ill give that a shot tomorrow, i just came in for the night, getting cold. ill take off the connector and see if i can get wires through it.

at least the rear speakers will be easy...even for 6x9's...all i have to do is make 4 cuts into the decklid, there is even a perfect little "box" in the rear bracing for the crossover.

They are helpful aren't they. I sliced myself up something fierce trying to run it from the inside of the car before I found out the right way to do it on another forum. Nobody had pics though so I took some. I like to help when I can.

oh i sliced up my right hand pretty good too, i counted over 10 slices that broke the skin.

with your pictures, i finished the right side in about 20 minutes, dude, you freakin ROCK. if there is ANYTHING i can ever do to help you, i definitley owe you one!! once i took that gray clip off the harness, it was freakin EASY!
