no muffler

If I took off my muffler and drove no muffler for a couple days, would that be bad for my car?

(I KNOW IT WILL BE LOUD)

wouldn't recommend it... probably sounds like poop.

but i don't think it's any different than hearing a fart can exhaust.

the uneven flow of air might make your car run worst than with the muffler though... bigger outlet means you could use more intake to even things up.

I know it will sound weird, I just wanted to see how it would be until my new muffler comes this thursday.

But it wont cause any problems or anything, or shouldn't, right?

Take it from someone who ACTUALLY did it and has kept it that way for 2 years!

I love it...sounds better than any other V6 in town. I get compliments all the time and people mistake it for a V8. I would know better of course. But if you're getting a new muffler, then don't do it! Because you don't want to just chop off your muffler and leave it that way. I fabricated a pipe to where I took off the muffler and welded a 3" exhaust tip. It's basically the same thing as buying an SLP Loudmouth exhaust setup...pipes no muff.

Wait why? I'm just going to unbolt the muffler, keep it that way for like a day or two, then when the real muffler comes i'll just bolt that bad boy on.

If you don't fabricate a pipe where you cut it off, that's where you WILL get the uneven sound of the car. Also, the carbon monoxide danger is a possibility if you do it this way too. I would just wait for your new one to come in. You'll see when you install the new one how it would sound the way you want to do it.

Ah I see what you are talking about. I guess I will wait.

I hate waiting, it is so hard :(

Also, that muffler keeps the pipe secure. You would have to disco at the large clamp at the Y and remove the back pipe, or it may loosen and interfere with your rear suspension/axle.

I had mine off for a long time. It wont cause any problems with your car. But if you take it off you might not want to put your new muffler on because you will like it better with out it.
