Default New twin turbo build

In preparation for the new MMR engine and HPP turbos, my new suspension upgrades went in last week. It feels like a completely different car. Installed were Tokico D-Spec struts and shocks, MM front coil over kit, MM rear lower control arms, MM full length subframe connectors, lower Battle Boxes, H&R rear racing springs, 17x9 front and 17x10.5 wheels with 275/40-17 and 315/35-17 tires, Eaton carbon posi differential, 31-spline Moser axles with C-clip eliminators, Trick Flow differential girdle, 3.55:1 gears. The car sits noticeably lower now and the adjustable struts/shocks are sweet. Hopefully, HPP won't take 4-6 months to deliver the turbo kit like has been happening to others. Here are some before and after pictures.

Default RE: New suspension in!

My new engine arrived from MMR this afternoon. It's their 900 HP-capable engine, but it's based on a Teksid block instead of a WAP or a Cobra iron block. I opted for the ceramic coated pistons, billet crank trigger, MMR oil pump, and all new timing chains and associated hardware. It also has ARP head and main studs, though you can't see them in the pictures.

The heads came from ebay (from a 98 Cobra). I had MMR give them their stage 3 port job, which they claim is good for 300/240 cfm @ .500, but I didn't spend the $$$ to actually have them flowed (I'm already $10,000 over my initial budget and they'll be good enough for me, regardless of the actual numbers). The valves are .5 mm oversized with new springs. Cams are factory stock 98s.

My Maximum Motorsports torque arm and Panhard rod came in last week, along with the 6-pt rollbar.

Now, if HPP will just ship my turbo system, I can get this party started!

Throwing in the cost of the heads @ $310, it was $8,550 assembled to my door.

I recommend you go with nice "K" member and lower control arms as well. You are replacing engine and the "K" member is MUCH easier to replace at that point. Go Griggs Racing and you WILL NOT be disappointed [8D]

BTW, car looks good

The HPP kit comes with a K-member and front control arms. They're from QA1 and they look a little flimsy compared to the ones from Maximum Motorsports and Griggs, but the turbo kit was designed specifically to fit that K-member. If someone has a spare MM K-member that will fit a 97 Cobra just lying around, I'll be happy to let you know if the HPP kit will work with it!
