As some of you may or may not know i own a cobalt ss/sc that is one of the more modded ones around. These are my mods as it stands.

Now for the little faster part. I have been selected by harrop to test a new blower. Im sure many of you are fimiliar with the tvs series blower from eaton. For those that are not the ZR1 uses the r2300 blower. I will be testing out the 1320 series. I am one of ten people in the world testing this out so im pretty pumped. The major difference is in the rotors, my current rotors have three lobes and have 60* twist around them. The tvs rotors have four lobes on each rotor and 160* twist as well. So in short i am looking to make close to 350 whp on this bad boy, i will keep you guys updated as i should be recieving the blower within the next week.
Hopefully so, im very interested to see how far i can push this thing. Best thing about it is my car looks stock besides the huge wing

lol, its going to be a small pulley on there a 2.75" and the 3" intake will most certainly wake it up. I will post dyno vids for you guys before and after so you can hear the difference.

I will update for sure, lower should be out to me by the 17th or 18th at the latest, it will go on once i have a few other things on then before and after dyno's. I should specify im looking for 350whp on a dyno jet. Im dynoing on a mustang dyno so its going to be lower but its cool becuase i can still see the gains. my brother dyno'd his h/c/i full bolt on ls1 auto there and did 362 rwhp so its low reading.

most of the issue people run into is heat, most people blow the number four pistons becuase of lack of cooling mods and heat. They also tend to beat the **** out of there car. We have a few turbo guys on stock interals pushing 380 whp. Though if they do go i have a back up plan.

To be honest with you guys the thing is a beast it pegs the map and the maf by 6200 rpm's. Its running out of fuel on 60# inj with a 12.0 afr, my redline is 7400 to. Boost numbers has to be around 25 or 26 i can't say for sure becuase the car can't read past 23.88, and it was flowing 45 lb/min through the maf at that point. So its making some decent power

hell yeah its staying on, i have a 3 inch intake being shipped rate now and im putting a ls4 tb on it when that comes to compenstate a little to slow down the maf hz, i also will be running the meth to so hopefully that can help out fuel a little

Just upgrade the headgasket and you should be good to go. I know the rest of the engine is bullet proof and should be able to hold whatever you throw at it.

When the head gasket blows its all getting rebuilt. Ported head, cometic gasket, head studs,cams, valve springs,tit retainers,neutral balance shafts, 9.5:1 forged pistons, ported intake. SO i really want this to last becuase i don't want to drop all that money just yet

all in the cobalt, 4 speeding , 1 for assured clear distance, i got out of the biggest speeding one and got no points on that becuase it was a reckless, but the others i had to bend over and take it

yeah my bills are pretty easy, 335 car payment, 180 month insurance, 45 cell phone, my credit card is like 400 with gas food and other crap, i help pay for cable, and i also pay for my gym membership which i never use. Thats about it though, i can tell you though i have saved a ton doing the installs and not paying labor. Im 6k deep into it rate now

how bout 91 octane, 8 degrees of timing, and 9psi. thats the minimum my car will run (lowest boost setting, lowest octane, and lowest timing)

Yeah i wish, i have a spare head that i can port myself and get decked at a shop, the cams are 300, the springs and retainers are 450, balnce shafts are 380, i will port the intakemyself, pistons are 650, cometic gasket is 100, and so are the studs. I also have to get my rods honed for the pistons so so more cash. But hopefully not tell next year or two. I want to start saving for a house or condo.

how bout 91 octane, 8 degrees of timing, and 9psi. thats the minimum my car will run (lowest boost setting, lowest octane, and lowest timing)
Im still seeing taillights lol. Its all good though. What are you going to do about the control arms? do i want to know how they broke?

from wiki, basically there is a happy point when you run race gas or meth were your car will stop making power you like to find that and keep it around there on high octane. It will make more power this way.

Yeah well my employer best buy has unbelieveable stock options and 401k is good to so my dad said you need to do this so i put 5% of my check to one and 5% to the other. With the 401k i put in 5% they match 4% so its actually like i almost put in double what i put in and stock i get to buy at the lowest selling point either at the begining or end plus 15% below that. So its a win win, becuase even if it is lower at the end i still get 15% off and if it was higher at the end say it started at $30 and ended at $40 i buy it for 25 and make instant cash

Yeah thats what I used to do when I worked at Walmart. I loved their stock and 401k. Plus with their 401k, you were fully invested after 7 years of working there. One of my good friends used to work at Best Buy but only part-time, he said he enjoyed it, and I enjoy my CC from there, LOL.

If you blow the head gasket, I would pull the head, have it ported, then install a copper shim/gasket, with ARP Fasteners.

I built a 10.2 second Nissan 240 , and a few other imports. Its very easy to make them fast as hell, but performance parts are marked up too dam high for smaller cars.
The main problems were broken pistons,blown head gaskets, spun axles ,smoked clutches in the tranny and warranty claims denied.

hm, looks like i have to go with a return style fuel system, idc's are 130% at 6200 rpms on a 11.8 afr, maf lb/min is 52, timing is 16*. I am waiting for my intake still and i will run another stock maf as i think the one i have is fried. Meth to come soon along with 25* of timing and more power

I just finished the return style system today and went out to tune some more with this thing. Still working on just the tune so far to get it inline but it is showing some promise over 56lb/min through the maf, no knock, i need to lean out the afr 10.42 i want to shoot for 11.8, idc's were 99% at 7200 rpms. This was not on the meth either so im going to crank the fuel pressure reg up a few more knotchs just to be safe lean it out nail, it down and start on the meth. I will keep you guys updated

Finally got the fix for the fueling side of the tune, turns out it was a a maf/ve blending table that was causing the car to dump fuel at 5700, now its 11.3~11.7 all the way up top and its time to work with the meth. idc's are 85% now to!

I dyno'd a while back on a very conservative tune 11.0 afr 16* timing and came up with this.
This dyno is a heart breaker for a dyno jet.The cartrapped 110 andmade 253 whp on the old 2.5" pulley setup on the old blower with a much more agrressive tune 12.3 afr and 23* timing (this setup usually nets 280~290 whp from other dyno's i have seen). Been tuning the meth for a little while more getting ready to crank up the timing and lean her out. I think i can pull 335whp but we shall see. The numbers are sae and tq would have been higher but he started to record the run late.

LOL.. I don't know that I'm going to be able to get it done before Kennedale closes down for the winter, as I'm still in Iraq. I probably won't be coming home till around the November/December timeframe since they just had two people drop off the contract, so now we're short-handed here in the Embassy. And that 13.16 I ran was a one-off stroke of luck that I only got close to a couple of times. Most of the time I averaged high 13.2's Will definitely post slips when I finally get to run it with the mods, though unfortunately being able to afford a place to live has to come first.... [>:]dammit.. LOL
And that's a very not bad set up you've got brudda, those are some very decent numbers you're throwing down IWHINE, even if they're not exactly what you were hoping for. I'd have to agree it'll be a real monster when you get the tune and the rest of it straightened out. :D
