Default Reposting this in the right section (scratch removal need help)

So last night, after getting my Rims installed ( yea this story blows ) I'm in the office paying, talking to the guys and everything, I went to remote start my car without even thinking about someone else being in my car. The mechanic left it in gear like anyone would, and the car jumped the curb and hit a chain link fence ( Dont flame my retardation of having remote start on a stick, I know it's stupid, but I like it ). There's some pretty bad gashes, like 3 or 4, but mostly just a bunch of light scratches and rub off. I was thinking about just wet sanding it and keeping it even if it has some nasty gashes, just for now until I decide to do a GT500 or cervinis front end. There is also a like 2"x2" dent right in the dead center of the nose where it comes to a point, but from what I've heard its impossible to get dents out of a bumper. Anyone got any ideas or experience on this?..

I work with some car dealers who were recently sued for selling a used Mustang 5spd with a remote start. The new owner did the same thing only it ran into a group of cars and cause several hundred dollars worth of damage. Now back to your question. I think that at this point I would upgrade the look on the bumper to the 500 look or something else. Or you could just go to new take off parts and buy a new bumper for fairly cheap. The fixing of the old bumper never works out for some reason. Just my two cents.

Chances are the bumper underneath your bumper cover is probably damaged. There really isn't much that can be done to fix a bumper cover, unless it's just a light scratch, those can be buffed. I'd say there is a good chance you need a new bumper cover and a bumper.

Well there is a chance that your current bumper can be reconditioned. The problem is that this is going to require removing it and will most definetly need paint work. By the time you pay for the reconditioning you could probley have purchased a new bumper for not much more or less. Regarding the dent in your bumper, I have been told that a body shop can heat the plastic to straighten it out. I don't know how perfect they can get it, it probley just depends on how bad the damage is. I would check ebay and see if there are any factory take off bumpers on there. You may luck out and find one in the same color and pay a fair price. That would be the cheapest route. Also check the ford take off parts website. I can't remember the exact link but if you type in ford take off parts in the search it will pull it up. They have several bumpers and I can pretty much guarantee they will have your color. They are pretty reasonable priced too.
