I have an 02 GT, 5 speed manual with a Mac CAI, BBK o/r x-pipe, magnaflow catback. Should i be able to beat a stock 02 Z28 w/ a 5.7L V8 in it? It is also 6 speed manual, also, should i beat the same year Trans AM?

The short answer is no. The Ls1 's will get you.
LS1=13.5 stock
02 GT with your mods=13.9-14.0
Z28 and Trans Am are basicly the same car.

it might be a relatively close race from a dig, but once u get to 70+ mph he is gona stat walking away quite easily. just hope u get a bad running one.

Maybe I didn't explain myself, If you went from a dig an LS1 could very easily smoke the tires through 1st and 2nd and sometimes into third. You wont win but it will keep you closer for alittle while longer. If you go from a roll Im sorry to tell you but you will get embarassed.

for the LS1 the stock GT is no contest.

once you get into really serious mods, then you can worry about LS1s.

For now get gears and pulleys and mess with SRTs and 350zs.


it needs to be a sticky "GTs are no match for teh LS1"
