i have a 2002 vert thats this color currently (this isnt my stang)

http://www.mikeandmel.com/Stang/various/smithatlanta.jpg

anyway i have always wanted a FLAT BLACK car with black rims and tinted windows, my vert top is black i think it would look CRAZY

i was wondering if any of y0u have seen a mustang with flat black? and are there any downsides to getting a flat black car?

also how much do you think it would cost to have done? some people tell me $1000 dollars-$2500 dollars

if it was 1500 i would do it in a heartbeat

im talking something like this

http://www.gtspirit.com/uploads/images/ferraritunero004yp2001.jpg

people have told me to spray paint my car flat black but thats not an option that would look like **** the paint wouldnt be even i would get it done professionally

I've got the same car as you "before" picture excepting for the roll bar and the G on the bumper.  I think it'd look like crap flat black but that's just me.  I've seen some flat black cars & the paint never looks consistent on the whole car. Part if the problem I think is it's harder to keep it clean & looking good. You can't wax a flat black car for example.

Are you thinking more of "semi-gloss"? Thats what the paint seems to be on that Ferrari

I have seen it done to quite a few cars. I personally think that a flat black car that is blacked out looks tough as hell. I was actually planning on doing it this summer but it is really hard to keep a flat black car clean. You have to be very careful of how you clean them and what you clean them with.

GreyStang- If the paint doesn't look consistant then that is because the person who painted it doesn't know what they are doing. The flat black cars that I have seen done have usually looked ok. The few that looked bad had some ****ty body shops do their work though.

And like I said I don't think the paint on that Ferrari looks very flat

I personally think it would looks sweet if you painted it matte black. It has a little more sheen that flat black.

Flat black is the worst thing ever, it looks like crappy primer and like was said above it is hard to keep clean. A friend of mine is painting his 91 LX flat black and it is awfull, thats just my opinion
