yea ive heard they come with 500 horsepower but all the top gear stuff and shows they do on it says it only has about 430 RWHP...

i'm no gt 500 expert, but i was reading a write up by VMP tuning and a stock '08 GT 500 ran 470 rwhp and 460 torque.
i think top gear was going by the assumption that 15% of the power is lost when traveling to the wheels so 500 x .85 = 425. so i dont think they actually ran it on a dyno but just calculated it in their heads. and top gear is that british show, right, and they dont like american cars at all.

haha.. even the corvette z06 they didnt like.. even with 470 Hp still pretty fast with some shock upgrades will be nice

On the mustang evolution forums justin said the following "We ran the car 3 times stock to get the drivetrain up to temp and get a good average HP #. The car made 421/438, then 424/427, and 419/22. I would say the blower and engine are very sensitive to heat soak." This would make sense factoring the 15% drivetrain loss. The 480 was after some tuning.

Plus they dont know S*** about it. Saying it had a 4.6L with a Supachaga lol. hate that show. But +1 to onederful100 post.

On Top Gear for whatever reason they assumed the horsepower was rated at the wheels. Then the dumbasses made a big deal when it "only" dynoed 430-440 something.
