What the h are you all talking about?! Should've he shot me for having smoked tails? I am seeing those on the streets every single day on various vehicles, and don't tell me you don't. There is no way the cop can make me take them off on the spot because he can't make me drive with no lights! The problem is that that happened in rich neighbourhood where cops have nothing to do but write the tickets for tints.
And for the record, this is NOT what gives a majority of mustang drivers bad names. It's guys like you driving your 400+HP at 120+mph!

By 'take them off' people mean remove the tint on the spot. Get some gas on a rag and wipe them clean.
I never said anything about being shot - don't get all excited over nothing. I simply stated he COULD have impounded your car for not being street legal.

And for the record, you claiming I'm a street racer with 400 hp driving 120mph is just laughable. Go read some of my posts, then come back and try again.

And YES you are giving us as an owner group a bad name. You just told a cop he didn't know the law and YOU did.... but you were wrong and guess what - he was right. Then you got on a Mustang forum and expressed you anger, when in fact, you got off easy and should be thankful.

Cops around here will just take your car and impound it until it's street legal. It's no different than a car running around with non DOT slicks on it, illegal exhaust or running nitrous on the street. Illegal is just that... illegal. Don't do it. If you do get caught, you have NO reason to whine about it at all.

The reason tail light tint isn't legal is because it's not safe. I bet you'd be pissed when someone rearended you..... seems like and easy win in court, but ooops, you impeded tail light transmission... so it's your fault. So now you have no car, and have to pay for someone else's, their injuries and missed work. All because you had to look 'cool' with tinted lights.

Having 400hp in a v6 doesn't = bad name.
Drive that 400hp v6 on a road course/track like LilRoush @ 120mph doesn't = bad name.

ummm..  you DO give most mustang drivers a bad name. look at your attitude.  typical highschool student that knows everything.  you said yourself you argued with the cop that he apparently doesn't know the law and you do.  grow up, son.

Hahahaha...you are funny man, and your conclusions too. I don't have attitude and I'm not a highschool student. I just had hard time talking to the cop because english is my second language, and he was asking all those questions. Why don't you just think, is there a cop who wll let you go if you did something wrong and gave him attitude? NO!

i guess it's time to slightly alter your story piece by piece until the cop looks like the asshole

and i'm not the only one that thought you were in highschool.  you're still just as immature it seems, either that or really ignorant.

Ok...what # key do I need to unscrew those nuts on the lights. I had my cousin do that for me but he moved back to Europe and took all the tools with him! So I'll just go to AutoZone get the key and put the stock lights back. The law has won again...lol!

Wait, I figured it out:

Wow. Stop talking about high school kids like that. Everyone doesn't act the same. Old heads.

(I'm assuming "old heads" is an insult directed to the older members of the forum... but I'm not sure. I'm not really down with the lingo of the day.)

LOL, I find it hilarious that we are "translating" this poster's comment into something coherent.  LilRoush I agree with your assessment, it is still a bit vague though.
