um, those numbers aren't accurate.  '94 Cobra could run low-mid 14s, and '93 Cobras can run 13s with the right driver.

1994 Cobra 0-60: 6.1 1/4 mile: 14.8

Is that better? two sites are giving me two numbers. So I dunno...

An 02 up Spec V puts out 180 torque at 4000 rpm. I had an 04 V for 11 days, and DAYUM...that thing was quick with the tight ass 6 sp and the 175 hp and all... A lightly modified one with I/H/E and cams could put out 220 hp easily.

Even with it's 100 mm bore and low redline, I know 300 hp isn't far off. Hell it's already been done with the new QR25DE.

The Vs run low to mid 15s from the factory. It's just a question of if you want to spend the extra 7k to get Mustang GT times for Mustang GT prices, which I hope we all know is possible....
Sure, anythings possible, but why try to make a pos into something like a mustang when you can spend the same amount of money and have a REAL CAR...???!!!

lol... I guess the only definition of "real" car is RWD... in that case, get a 240SX and drop an SR20DET in it for less than the cost of a new V6 Mustang.  Dude, people have different tastes, but speed is speed.  Don't talk about "real car" this, and "real car" that.

looks are your opinion, and are not shared by most people.  Alot of people think Mustangs are ugly too.  And 240SXs are more rare than Mustangs.  And you can drop an SR20DET in an early-mid 90s 240SX and run 13s while looking like you run 16s.  Dude, it's different strokes for different folks.  Not everyone is gonna want the exact same thing.

your stroke sucks and find me some people who think mustangs look ugly so i can beat their head in.  as for rarity...WHO GIVES A f**k?  thats a lame excuse for people that cant think of anything else good about their car.

Your stroke "sucks" because you can't even drive yet.  You have no clue about the experience of driving different types of cars.  And actually, ALOT of people think there's nothing special about Mustangs, or that they're merely "cute."  And rarity?  That's the ONLY reason the Cobra R is any good, because they only made 300 of them.  The full interior, stereo packing, A/C having Z06 is faster, looks better, handles just as well, and is $10K cheaper
funny how everyone compares their lesser cars to sixers or SN95's...maybe because they suck and are a huge point of weakness in mustang history...

sentras are ok...but id go for a maxima over them any day
I have a SN95 convert and though some people may not care for them they do have a lot going for them. The main resons I chose this year was as follows: Newer body style, way better interior, 4 wheel ABS disk brakes, duel air bages, better suspension, and still has the 5.0. Obviously this car has its down side, mainly do to its intake and computer programing, and a little heavier. Now this is in its stock form, I never intended to keep any Mustang I bought stock. I purchased it for 9K with 85k miles on it. In the two years I have had it Ive put approx 6k in to it for a whopping 15k total. Which in my opinion is not that much at all. I dont think you could buy a new Sentra for that. I have a built 347, upgraded suspension, etc. This car can keep up with the best of them for a fraction of the cost. I think I made the right choice, if you think this car sucks, thats your opinion, just beware if you pull beside a green 95 convert.

I never said your car sucks.  But if someone's gonna call my car slow, than every stock/close to stock SN95 GT is slow too, because we all run within a few tenths of each other

I think you have some serious growing up to do. I found a black 92 240sx for under 5 grand. a 5 grand motor swap (which is overkill) with the SR20DET as GSR said...and I would kill each and every GT model Mustang on this forum, unless they're running Cobra times. When are you going to realize there's more than Mustangs out there? Open up your eyes, just because it doesn't have a horse on it, doesn't mean it's automatically a piece of s**t.

I can see your response right now. "Mustangs are the kings of the road!" "Mustangs are my life!"

Mustangs are my life? uh yeah right...lol.

I have a 71 Mach1. Its not fast. I built a 68 coupe for my brother, its not fast. I have a 70 GTO that isnt fast it only runs mid 13's. My 79 Formula with a 455 is isnt fast either it only runs 11's. A Sentra that turns in a 15 or even a 14 isnt fast to me. im not sayin its not a good car, but I will say I wont own one.

I will spend my money somewhere else. I own alot of different thigns, one thing I wont do tho is race magazine times. Just because R&T got XXX.XX @ XXmph doesnt mean all of them run that. HP numbers are subjective and dont really mean squat. having a 900 rwhp Turbo whatever is intersting and kinda cool, but if it runs 13's then it still isnt fast.  What matters most is who is first across the line. At least in racing, what matters otherwise is do you really like what you are driving?

Also everyone should know the limits of their car, ie dont race a Viper with a Stock Civic or Geo Metro its silly, a waste of gas, and why get a ticket when everyone in the courtroom will be laughing at you.

uh......I wasn't directing that to you Mysterious. But a'ight then...

and if you were to have a 900 hp turbo car...that runs 13s? then you need to learn how to drive.

you can get your head out of your ass.  they look like s**t.  as for the price, i was talking about the newer model.  i know there's more than mustangs...i dont even plan on getting one, but you need to stop talking bad about them on a f**king mustang forum moron

How am I talking bad about them? Saying they'll lose to a built 4 banger for less than the base of one is talking bad about them? riiiight...

Seeing as how you're the only one that keeps taking offense, yet you don't even own one, why should I stop talking on a Mustang forum about Mustangs? No one else seems to give a s**t.

Why are Mustangs the top dawg on your list, yet you don't even want one? I got you beat right there, I want one eventually. You're going to have to drive something, and since I've been here I think you've basically ruled out every other type of car to own as either it being "ugly" "slow" or a just a "ricer car with a ricer engine."

If you are a true car guy, you wouldn't go "they look like s**t" and be gone with them, you'd appreciate ANY car for whatever reason. I hate Cavaliers, but the fact you can make a 2.2 squeeze out 405 hp to the wheels (i've seen dyno sheets) impresses me and makes me think...what if??

Stop being so closed minded about stuff. You may learn something new.

Yeah 900 hp should be faster than 13's. Will give an update of RWHP as soon as I get my valvebody werkin right again...

I know ya wasnt directin it at me, theres alot of guys who own stangs who dont race them. Mine is only a low 13 car anyway. Im just a poor USAF E5 who pays alot of support for my kids, so cheap is my only way.  But its all good, in time I will have my car where I want it again, and it will take alot of Sentra hop ups to run with it. lol.. Relax im just bustin a bit, all in fun..
A lightly modded SE-R Spec V would probably beat a stock 94-98 GT...
Depends on what "lightly modded" means for a 4 banger.  Hopefully more than the 10 horses you get from the 3 foot wing...

I used to own a 02 Sentra and I know all about them.  The Spec V's claim 175 hp and 180 tq at the flywheel.  But on the dyno stock they put out 146whp and 149wtq.  So they are a little overrated.  They're nice but a little overrated in the#'s.  And the QR25DE is no where near as strong of a motor as a SR20DE.  Major engine internals are needed to top 250whp in a QR25 where as you begin to need internals at 500whp in a SR20.
