Just got back from a "spur of the moment" shoot while I was in Pasadena. Looked at these frames and my jaw dropped. Can NOT wait to see it with stripes and hood pins!!!!

Do you guys love these as much as I do!?!?

Thanks Guys!!!

Pwny, as far as good pictures go you are better off investing money in a camera than photoshop. All I did to these really was desaturate and warm. My camera does most of the magic ;).

tealfastback69, it is the GT500 from bumper conversion on my GT. Not just the grill.

What kind of camera do you use? My "everyday" Nikon just recently died, and right not I'm stuck taking pics w/ my iPhone.

Was in the market for a good camera, but since you obviously know what your doing ... do you have any recommendations?

Budget wise, I would like to stay under $1000

The pics are really nice.  The warm tone to them really makes them stand out.  You might work on the foglights a bit, the burned edges or bump in contrast on the edges (or whatever you're doing to get them to really pop out) needs a bit of work...the edges just look a bit sloppy on some of the images.  The headlights have that nice natural fade to black around the light but the fogs don't.  You've got a nice eye for composition...and a smokin' car!

Thanks again guys! not bad for an 18 year old eh

thewarmachine - that comment jsut about made my night! thanks bud.

washamur - I use a Canon EOS 1D Mark II but the hands that are taking the pictures have been at it for around 9 years so thats more of the trick than anything. I do have a recommendation and that is CANON CANON CANON. Definitely a huge fan of Canon cameras and their lenses. I dont know if you had an SLR before but if not I would definitely switch to a Canon. If you did and you still have all your Nikon lenses then I would stay. In the 1G market and I havent looked in a while but I'd say your safe with the higher end Canon XTI camera. Forget the name but yes, it is a great camera. Remember to save money for the lens though . If worst come to worst and you decide to go with nikon thats fine heh but definitely get an SLR camera. World of a difference.

r3velation - haha well I will definitely have it with me so it might just happen. That is if you ARE going to the Raceline meet in OC with us

ArcticFrog - Hmm I dont know what happened but I didnt do any burning or anything. They are so bright like that because I over exposed the lights by 1 or 2 stops so I could bring out a bit more of the shadows and really make those lights bright. The black rim around the bottom fog lamps are just apart of them, just blocks the light I guess. Thanks for the pointers though, always love another photo junkies opinion!

ÅЯđồľŀễŗ - Everything was shot at F4 on aperture priority with a bracket of 1 to 2 stops. Didnt want to constantly be changing settings as I moved so it worked best for me. f4 and f5.6 seem to be great apertures to shoot your car at in terms of depth of field. As for ISO depending on the lighting it changed. First I was at 100 then had to pump it way up as the sun went down to around 800-1000. Be careful at shooting this high of an ISO on some cameras, mine has a great ISO expansion / grain reduction software built in.

i rarely ever shoot car pics at an aperture higher than an f4. and i hardly ever boost the ISO in my pictures. although my ISO creates too much noise.
