I recently called my ford dealership and asked them how much it would cost to install FRPP 4.10 gears and a limited slip differential on my mustang, they quoted me $2500 including 8 hours of labor...do i really need to spend that much?

DONT LET DEALERSHIPS TOUCH THE REAR END!!! find a quality tranny/drivetrain shop that deals with that stuff everyday so it gets done right
americanmuscle.com has 4.10 gears and you also need a bering kit
and tloks are junk get a detroit true trac or an eaton LSD
Man oh man... your rhetoric is getting much more harsh lately. tloks are not junk. a detroit true trac may be better, but it is also more expensive and not need for 90% of the folks on this board. sheesh.

a tlok is as strong as the stock open diff in the car, i blew the spider gears out of my 100% stock 02 6 hitter AUTO open diff on stock power (or whats there) they are junk.

You are wrong, it has been proven many times by other members of this forum who run t-loks and run at the strip every weekend, some putting down 300+ hp and not blowing their t-loks. Just because you had a bad experience, or did something to blow it up doesn't mean they are junk.
Every single factory GT has a t-lok and they don't seem to be dropping.

I am so sick of hearing you talk about how your tlok failed. Does that make you special or something and you get to butt in and give your worthless 2 cents on everything F'in tlok/gears thread?? It's starting to look like everyone is getting sick of it so why don't you do us all a favor and stfu already!! We all know moving parts fail sometimes, **** happens get over it!

+1 (toned down of course...) my T-lok has been flawless...and there is huge differences in an 02 vs an 05+...different transmission, driveline, suspension, wheel tire configuration, CA design etc...they are not the same horse. 200,000+ s197's later and t-lock problems are nearly absent from all the boards..also sounds like your pinion gears had a bad factory set-up...too open a backlash running on the top of the teeth..

seems like the frpp t-lok is kinda like drinking....if you go out and drink moderately, everything is just fine. once you start shotgunning and slamming shots, everything goes to sh*t. haha.....might not be the best analogy but i guess there's always some way to relate one thing to another.
