Ran 2 passes at Chandler 1/8 mile drag strip, with a best time of 9.992 at 75MPH. RT was .680 with a 2.493 60 ft time.

These were my first runs on a real track, and I must say, launching out of that box is completely different than anything on the street.

I ran the car stock as possible, the only thing I did different was remove the intake restriction diffuser that is supposedly good for 4 hp.

The car would not hook up on either launch, I went around the waterbox and burned off the P-zeros, but no dice.

I left way too hard the first run at about 3500 rpm, then brought it down to 3000 the second run.

Once spinning, I got out of first and rode out second to the end. Hence the jacked up 60ft times.

I do have to say, that I suck driving this car, but I am glad to get some practice in. I did get a better time then another guy in a 05 5speed, but that guy was way off with a 10.69.

Being a newbie sucks, but at least I had the balls to run my car on the track, unlike the trash talkers in the stands.

Absolutely nothing to be ashamed of. There will always be people out there better than you, but...there will always be people worse too.

Some people are like Slinkies. They're really good for nothing. But they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs.

How easy was it to remove the diffuser? I was looking at mine when I was installing the CAI and noticed that it appeared to be glued in. I had not taken the time yet to play with it.

the diffuser is not that hard to remove it is not glued in either but there is a rubber lip you have to watch out for. when i changed out my intake we removed mine. we kind od peeled back the rubber (2 man job is the easiest way i think) i got some needle nose plyers and we kind of slowly sput it out of there

I took an X-acto knife and cut out that rubber lip and the vapor trap practically removed itself

I've heard from quite a few people not to go through a waterbox on your street radials, that it doesn't increase grip that much unless you use slicks. Course, the P-zero's might be different just to prove me wrong =P

Well well,.. last night I lined up a 93 GT and smoked the living **** out of him...about 20 car lengths!

I launched at 2200 rpm, just feathering the clutch until the starter dropped the flashlight. Gave it about 1/3 throttle, then mashing the gas, shifting to second at about 5700 rpm.

It was a hell of a rush, and it was nice to put my trash talking friend in his place.

I put on the Tri-Ax shifter yesterday and it makes a huge difference. I'm still not used to it, but man does it feel good.

I ran this race Sunday, April 10 at Lebanon Valley Speedway, Upstate NY near Albany.

Stock mustang, no mods. Best run first weekend was 13.92 with a 1.93 60' No engine mods at all yet. Stock tires. First time racing in 20 years.

Here's a video of the run. Sorry for quality... I'll have better videos later in the season.

Edit - These are 1/4 mile times of course.
