The only reason the Manual are losing the race right now, is because the guys with the Sticks are out banging gears......they'll catch up later when they get home.

Then they'll just be bangin' something else. Those gear bangers. Always looking for something to bang.

True the manual can be more fun than auto some of the time but they can be a pain in the A$$ most of the time.

I think Abe Lincoln said that didn't he?

This thread is great! lol  Some of you guys are just ruthless against the autos. lol Its good reading.

Ill step up and be the first to admit; in one way I do regret not getting a manual. Manuals do put more power to the wheels off the show room floor. But, to be perfectly honest, Im too dang lazy to shift. LOL

Well said wingman75- you hit the nail right on the head..!
I drove manuals (mostly bimmers) for almost 35 years, but this Stang GTA rocks Big Time, and I never regretted my choice for a one second!

I don't know if it is representative of the entire nation, but at my local Ford dealer they had mostly autos when I went to buy. It was like a three to one ratio auto to manual.

I'm not in love with the Tremec 3650, but I'm still glad I went with the manual. I have an auto in my other car, so this way I get to enjoy boy driving styles.

Another auto or manual thread, quick, someone start up a "which CAI intake is best?" thread!!!    Or better yet, a V6 vs. GT thread, no no, a poser/not a poser thread!

5 spd all the way!

Or another synthetic vs. non-synth oil thread.

Wouldn't it be nice if it was that black-and-white?  I love my manual, but if I lived back in the city I'd have SERIOUSLY considered an auto...  But the key word here is CONSIDERED... Geez, how I love to DRIVE the manual...

geee man, it's an easy fix.  Just mod the auto until you are scared to hit the gas pedal. That way you keep the excitement level.

My wife has arthritis in her knees and to keep the peace I went with the auto. But I like it also.

Heres what i have had

86 Saleen 5sp.. Loved it.. but those old trannys 3rd gear would go out all the time.. I think I went thru two lol

95 gt conv auto.. was an awesome deal that I couldnt pass up.. got it used, under bluebook and under the miles it should have had. Didnt mind it too much cause i drove a lot in trafic. how ever, I grew up in a canyon and love driving the twisties.. autos SUCK for that.. SUCK SUCK SUCK.. but it was nice in trafic.

07 gt conv 5sp.. god i missed having a manual!! trafic doesnt even bug me really, and i live in los angeles! Just the amount of control you have over the car.. i love downshifting and having a decently high rpm after and my pypes make that rumbling sound.. love it!
