What a great quote made by the man himself, Carroll Shelby.
“I don’t think we take a back seat to anybody in the world and I get tired of people talking about imported cars being so superior to what were building here in America, and I’m damn tired of it, I want it stopped.” Carroll Shelby If you want to see the video... http://www.svt.ford.com/fordvehicles.html go here, then go to photos and videos then click on the GT500KR and its the last one on the page

Maybe someone needs to tell Carroll Shelby to take over an automaker and make some damn cars consumers want then. That is a typical statement from someone in the American automotive industry....

Lol, when I saw this I knew I was going to see you! I agree with you though...
^ Lol, I couldn't resist. It really pisses me off, though. I used to be a huge Dodge fan, but all of their recent products are total sh!t. The only exception really is the LX cars. And even they are getting long in the tooth. Dodge is really making some horrible decisions as of late. GM is def on the right track and making some good cars. Ford kinda gets it, they just need to stop being so damn conservative and build the good cars that they know how to build, and DO build, but only in foreign markets.....

most american cars need BETTER DESIGNERS.... interiors arent up to par with import and thats what you have to look at every time you drive. previous mustangs look like crap inside imo but the s197 aint too shabby
i think a problem for american auto makers is the cost of materials to build the cars. so they seem to cut corners, sometimes

The simple math here is that it costs domestic automakers on avarage 2 grand more to build a car here in America VS a foreign automaker due to the high costs of things such as employee health insurance and other benefits. (pensions, ect.) That's why they take the cheap route when it comes to things such as interior materials, ect. Hopefully the new deals that GM, Chrysler, and Ford have reached with the unions will do something to help level the playing field and improve quality.
