ORIGINAL: bluovalguy <snip> aside from the mustang, what ford or dodge car is worth buying? Not any that I am gonna spend my money on. I'm open-minded to foreign cars, both branded and manufactured, but there are plenty of good "American" cars to be had at competitive prices (hello weak dollar and sluggish sales). I'm quite pleased with the $35k stickered Ram Big Horn Edition that I picked up for $22k. I'm also seeing Dodge Charger R/T's, loaded with leather and a Hemi going for $24k. Granted, these cars probably don't fit in well with the current state of fuel prices , but are very good cars for the money. Before anybody googles it, I'm pretty sure that much of the above listed vehicles comes from or is assembled in Mexico.

Yeah, BMW builds most of its SUV's (SAV's in BMW speak) in South Carolina, forgot about that. Gothand, I said almost all trucks, foriegn or domestic, are pretty much equal. But the Charger is a far cry from matching its competitors. Yeah, the v8 and rear wheel drive are great, but overall quality and fit and finish is lacking. I am praying they do the challenger right, if so, then I will have to change my thinking

What is the European or Asian competition to the Charger? Off of the top of my head, I can think of no large, muscular sedans in the sub $30K range coming out of there. Along the European component/design manufactured in the U.S., how does this grab you? quote:

ORIGINAL: 66JameStang The one with the import name, the one designed outside of american auto manufacturers... The point is it carries an American name and American business revenue.... Besides i can't think of any car or truck I would drive from a foriegn auto company or one that I would call a dream car... FORD GMC DODGE (not to mention all the brands that fall underneath these three)- American car companies- I can not see any reason to pick from anything else... Call me close minded It's just the way I feel and my opinion... So, you wouldnt call the Bugatti Veyron a dream car!?!?!? and if given the opportunity, you wouldnt drive one!?!?!? Are you on crack!?!?!?

Bugatti is owned by Volkswagen, and as far as I know has never been owned by ford. Good choice on the aston.

Bugatti has never been linked to Ford, Aston Martin was though until recently. As for the Chargers direct competitors from Europe or Asia, none come to mind. But that does not give it a pass for sh1tty quality. And yes, I know it has won some JD power BS awards, but who hasnt.
