So a friend at school has an automatic convertible 1994 5.0 Mustang and asked to have a friendly race with my car. Now, I'm aware I have half his cylinders, and less than half his cylinder size (2.0 I4). Both cars are completely stock. My RSX supposedly runs low 15s with ease, for those who aren't too familiar with imports . With that said, I know that his gen of 5.0 stangs really aren't that quick, especially considering his is a vert + automatic.
Would I have a chance against this stang? Maybe from a roll?

All 94 Mustangs are slow....the OP should have this easily.

V-6 is for real drivers. Go buy a Jetta if you want gas mileage and a chicks car. Buy a V-8 Mustang if you have no driving ability and need the extra horsepower to compensate and feel like you''''''''re fast.
your car has like 40 more hp than a regular gt, and its not a auto or an convertable
those 2 things more than anything else would hurt the 5.0's chances
RSX-s's are quick little cars
RSX type s' only have 210 flywheel hp, so it is still less or close to that of stock gt. My civic si (as fast as a type s) will lose to my 89 gt from 0-100 but will get absolutely killed from anything more than 25 mph. That being said verts are pretty slow especially autos so if you can drive it shouldn't be a problem.

Ok cool, thanks for responses. I'll try to race from a roll or something, since I'm not the best at launching yet (considering he has an auto). Well hopefully the race will happen soon so that I'll be able to post up results

What mods do you have on your 89? And is it a stick or auto?
I think that it is your race to lose. If you can drive and dont screw up, you should have it. The auto and vert is hurting the 5.0. I am of course assuming that you have a manual and can drive. Give him hell.

Right now my 89 is a 5sp with a full exhaust and an e303 cam(it was installed by the P.O. when it was rebuilt). Once that little honda gets rolling it can hang with new edges, granted I will be about 2-3 cars back but if I drive it right and the other guy doesn't know how to drive well his ego will be hurt.
