Which brand of tires?

zmetalmilitia -> Which brand of tires? (2/25/2008 3:20:03 PM)

I am close to buying new tires for my wheels that are due here Wednesday.  I am almost sold on the Goodyear GS-D3.  I was also looking at the BF goodrich G-Force T/A KDW.  Am I overlooking any other KA tire that I would prefer?  I am only going to be driving in the dry/rain no snow or ice, it is a 67 afterall.  Any suggestions or should I stick with the goodyears?  All the reviews have been awesome, nothing bad or negative to say.  Also, I'm not looking for a real long life tire, I mean that would be nice but that is at the bottom of the list.  I want performance and looks before durability.  Any suggestions would be great.

This is the wheel.

You cant go wrong with the F1 GS D3's
Awesome tire, and actually have decent treadwear, all depends on how you drive on them.
I ran mine on a 3.5 mile 21 turn road course in both dry, and a downpour, and they were freaking awesome!
You can see some youtube videos on the track in the rain.

Well have you thought about the new vredestein tires? They handle like crazy both wet and dry. I wouldnt have anything else!! Good tread life too.

Okay, I went withe the BFG's T/A KDW.  245/45/17 front, 285/40/17 rear.  I will have the front in about 10 days, the rear 3 months, hello!?  They are on bo from Michellin, eta=3 freakin months.  Oh well, it will give me time to finish some undercarriage work, like install the rear sway bar, finish new brake lines, and fuel lines.  I have a pan hard bar to install too but I can't until I get the tires.  Arrgh.  Anyway, I chose those because they seem to have excellent reviews and handle awesome.  They're not as expensive as the goodyears which was another deciding factor.  (The gy's were not available either).  I will post pics whenever I get them.  thanks for compliment on the wheels.  I got them yesterday....awesome.  They are awesome.  I love how wide the backs are. 17x8 up front and 17x10 out back.  I'll post pics of them tonight, ok maybe tomorrow, it is Friday, beer drinking time.
