Gears do not come with a t-loc. Factory you have 3.31 gears. You should not do the install yourself unless you are a very capable mechanic with experience in replacing gears.

Install should run you about 300 bucks, I suggest replacing your gears at the same time you change your t-lok, it will save you in the long run.

Gears are in the rear axle and make the car move forward.

T-Lok is a traction locking differential and make both tires spin which gives you more traction.

I have never ordered from this site but this is the best deal I have found on the T-LOC

Stop that annoying and embarrassing "One wheel peel" with one of these! Traction-Lok limited slip differentials are made by
Ford Racing and have plate type clutches. For use with factory installed or after market 28 spline axles for 7.5" V6 Mustang.

Ford Racing Friction Modifier - A must for every new Trak-Lok or Ring Gear & Pinion install. Requires 4 OZ. of Friction Modifier
on initial fill. Capable of handling up to 350Hp.

Add a Ford Racing Ring Gear & Pinion set to finish the rear end upgrade! The 4.10:1 Ring Gear & Pinion is a good match for
the AOD/AODE & 4R70W automatic transmissions and the 3.73:1 Ring Gear & Pinion set is more suitable for the T-5 manual
transmission.

3.73:1 Ring Gear and Pinion set is a better choice for the automatic transmission if a supercharger is planned for the future.

this is where i'll most likely be ordering my t-lok this week. my gears are arriving today...woohoo!! i did my research and this is the best deal i could find.....other than used parts. if i order from chipsv6 either today or tommorrow, i'll let u all know how the transaction goes.

*by the way, i'm going with 3.73's. i have an auto. i 've read over AND over 3.73's for manny and 4.10's for auto but i'm not looking for that much of a jump even though i'm sure it would tons of fun. i want just a solid/moderate improvement on my acceleration at the least. i'm cool with my stock gearing so moving to 3.73's should be good enough for me. NO racing intentions. i'll post after my long awaited mod is finally complete.

in your case, i personally would recommend getting a whole new 8.8 gt takeoff rear end.

ive been doing some reading and john said this

Well, one thing that can I forgot to mention on the 8.8 is the new flange you need for the 8.8 to work with the V6 driveshaft... it about a $25 part but needs to be installed properly... After a mishap... Diversified is now selling 8.8's with the proper flange already installed!!!

Here's an example: Mustang 8.8" Rear Axle
Assembly 2005-2008 3.73:1
Ratio w/ABS w/Trac-Loc
Pinion Flange For Mustang V6 - FR3-6010-05AF (http://www.newtakeoff.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=8265)

so.. my question is.. if you replace the d/s do you need this stupid flange?

if you have a heavy enough foot you will blow the tlok up on 100% stock power (i blew my open diff up but there the same thing)

built 7.5 > stock 8.8, order a detroit true trac from drivetrainspecialists.com (or an eaton but they cost more) and a TA girdle with stud kit and panhard bar relocation kit

the only people who think 4.10s are to much are those that have never driven them in a moderm vehicle with an OD

www.newtakeoff.com (http://www.newtakeoff.com)
8.8 rearsstuffed with LSDs and what ever gears you want,
factory set-up too boot.
You just need the V6 driveshaft pinion flange from Ford.

Sounds to me like the 7.5 is a waist of time and money if this is true and you need to go to a Pro Shop to get a better game plan on step 1, 2, 3 to get you there then to blow money on bad parts that will need to come off for stronger ones. 8.8 would be a better way to go but a Pro Shop can tell you what race gear would be better then the 8.8 its a stock part for a 300HP car

Sorry I live in Ohio but we have a Rod Shop here in podunk Marion. Your in the heart of NASCAR Country I think it would be easy to find a Rod Shop In SC. Just look for a shade tree with a engine hanging from a branch.
