my dad just ran across an auto body shop near him in AL that mixed up some ford laser red and put it into an aerosol can for like 20 bucks a can. i never knew this was even possible, but im thinking a few rattle cans of redfire metallic + some primer + engine covers = pretty friggen badass

Interesting.  I've never thought about painting the fuel rails and throttle body.  Looks great.

I loved this so much that I came home last night and took off my valve covers, fuel rails, and TB. I'll be sanding and priming tonight. I think that I'm going with red to match my red brake calipers though.

Red will look good with your car.  The TB held paint without sanding and with just cleaning.  The fuel rails will need some though since they are smooth.  But the Valve covers, I have never sanded.  I use a wire brush to clean them and that seems to give it enough for the paint to stick too.  Done 5 sets that way with no known problems.

Thanks for the heads up! I'm looking really forward to getting this done. I got my Foose Nitrous wheels and Nitto tires on this week, only put 20 miles on them, then saw this and tore the engine apart. LOL The new spark plugs should be here tomorrow....perfect timing!

HAHA, Nice...

The key to all of this is to be patient with the paint drying.  Give 10 minute between coats, and 3 coats each of primer, paint, and clear.  Then let it sit over night before re-installing...

I have all kinds of time. It's supposed to rain for the next 4 days. I'm trying to figure out what I can do after I get it all back together. It's perfect timing for those little projects that don't cost much, but it seems like you never have time to do.

This leads me to believe you will be doing it in your garage.  Just a word of advice.  You are going to be spraying nearly 3 whole cans of paint in a semi/entirely closed place not made for painting.  You will have PAINT DUST everywhere.  I mean everywhere!!!  It will get stuck to your shoes and you will drag it in to the house.  If I were you I would suggest getting some plastic and making a make shift paint room with it so that all the paint dust is contained with'n it...
