So... I'm hitting a new issue where Natalie (the car) is suddenly choking. Talking to my friend with the other Mustang II, he suggested that the things that inject the fuel are maybe getting stuck. So he suggested this stuff made by like sea foam or something called Engine Tune. So I put that in my gas tank, and its helping a little...
Heres my real question though. I'm a little annoyed at my duel carb. Cause I cant put like an edelbroke air intake on it. Cause it has the two screws instead of just the one... Is there a carb I should switch to to get more power, and to be able to use the intake? Or should I just keep mine, and find an intake that will work on mine?
I'm really wanting to find ways to get more power out of this engine. I have a tough time believing that this 2.8L V6 can really only push 111 HP. I mean... My Mazda 626, which was a 2.5L V6 (And had a cylinder out) was pressing 160ish... Granted that was with performance parts. But still...
What can I do to make Natalie a beast? But still run dependable?

offenhouser makes intakes so you can use a holley 4bbl carb on there (you'd want a 390 cfm), and larger cams are available. do that, then add dual exhaust and you'll be much happier...... but in the end its just a 30 year old 2.8 V6
Mmm. I had a 99 GT do a blow by on me. Made me sick to my stomach, I floored it and she couldent even barely keep up.
Whats a rough estimate for a 302 swap? Anyone know?
Also. shes going back to chocking agian. But then agian, I sorta jumped her on accident. Coming down a hill, there was a bump, got a little air, but then since the shocks are shot, she hit the ground, hard... It feels like the same problem as before with the injecters (or whatever they are) Cept... Its back. *shrugs*

lol
302 swap would cost as much as the motor you found, plus all the conversion stuff. ebay can be your friend here, but motor mounts, headers, bellhousing, flywheel/flexplate, torque converter, radiator, oil pan, oil pickup tube can all add up.
Sounds like I need to start making a list. What are my options as far as V8's go? Am I basically limited to the 302? Are are there bigger engines I can put in? With out breaking the bank. lol.
I basically work at a gas station. So... You get the general idea of how much I make.
Its to bad shes a Ghia. And not like a Mach 1 or something...
I was dogging 4 cyc Stangs earlier with my wife and she said, "you have a 4, so why are you talking crap about them?" I said, "I have a 6", she says, "no way, it runs like a dog"..
Try rebuilding the carb. Might take care of the "shrugs"(?). That little 6 is quite capable of some speed but it can depend on the tranny and the rear end. I had a 74 fastback that could chirp tires in the first three gears (it hand the 4-speed). If you gave the auto, consider the 4-speed manual...
