I just purchased a 92 LX vert that has no side mirrors (shaved) and the door molding does not match what should be on a vert...as far as I can tell.   Although the window is a full size like a vert, the pillar molding is shaped like it was designed for a corner window mirror.     I have not been able to find any vert pictures with the corner window mirrors except for a picture I saw of a 88 Mclaren which was set up that way.

Did all stock 87-93 verts come with side mirror mounted on door or did some come with mirror in corner of window like GT?

My 87 has the mirrors mounted in the corner of the window.
I've noticed this difference in the convertibles as well, my guess has been that 90-93 have the mirrors mounted lower, while 87-89 have them mounted like standard mirrors are usually mounted.
