Ok ive been checking this forum for a minute now and for some reason, everyone is hating on the 2005 v6 model...i hear stuff like "v6 owners are posers" or "a v6 05 isnt a real mustang". why is everyone hating on them for that? i mean if they bought a v6, maybe they have a good ass reason to. i mean its cheaper, it gets better gas mileage, and its still got some kick to it, it may not be 300 hp, but its still speed. less than $20K for a car that does 15.3 in the quarter mile is nothing to be ashamed of. also, the yonger crowd prolly cant get a 05 gt, because many have college to pay for and insurance will be a pain, and for the older folks who want to mod the 6'er, more power to them. personally i think its awesome to have the underdog eating down on the gt, and it can be done. and i seriously dont get the whole poser thing. i have a 2000 v6, and im in no way a poser, because i love mustangs, in fact im saving up to get a gt right now, but its cheaper for me right now cuz im in college. if i wanted to, i could afford a 05 gt, because i have a job that pays me VERY well, but i chose to invest and put my money in college. but i just want to know, why are u guys being so hard on the v6 guys???

2000 Mustang V6 -yeah, its fast. compared to a jetta.
Did you GT owners do this every time a new model came out? You'll remember that the V6 provieds a substantial section of the Mustang legacy. It's always been around! Why all of a sudden do we hate V6's? The HP provided by the V6 still puts it well above most of the other V6's out there, which in my mind makes it more muscle than not. And frankly, you can't argue it looks any worse. The power that the GT affords is, when you really think about it, nothing but excess, as you would never need it on a public road. So if you feel the need to pay the extra gas, insurance, etc...then that's great! Good for you, you've got a nice car and you should enjoy it...BUT...not at the expense of those who opted for a less powerful model. As the above poster stated, there are many reasons for buying a V6 all of them perfectly legit.
The argument that the V6ers are buying a car for the looks is a rather obvious one. Of course we are...it's a damn mustang, it's always been partly about looks. And for those that want more than looks, you get yourself a GT and burn rubber all day long. But don't say they're posers for buying a less powerful model than your coveted GT. Maturity is key, picking fights like a playground bully is just silly.
Alright...It's been around for quite some time? It's boosted sales of the Mustang? It's ensured that the Mustang line stayed alive and well? It's generally the most popular sale in the Mustang line? It usually outsells the GT (I would argue 3 to 1 in most cases)?
Pick any statement above and insert in place of the "Been around forever" comment. If you're going to be picky.
Those of us who bought the GT bought it cause we are power mongers,Jerks and just plain @$$holes. So what kind of treatment do you expect to get from someone who could easily buy a nice, fun, sporty, let's go to the beach and have a picknic V6, but didn't. Instead us GT owners went out for the I am way to friggin loud as I burn out from this Red light what you think your fast lets race B!tch kind of car. Face it, it reflects on personality very much. V6=nice guy. V8=@$$hole.
So what kind of posts do you expect from people who on purpose went out and bought an 8?

the reason that they get **** is, if they wanted gas milage, a good daliy commute, economical transportation then they should get a toyota. the real reason why they got the mustang is because they want the image and the history of the mustang but cant afford/dont want the real deal. so they get the cheaper version with the look but not the grunt, hence poser.
This was one of the most retarded, immature, and downright stupid things I have heard in a while. Wow if your powermongers why the hell didnt you buy an 03/04Cobra? Why didn't you buy a Vette? Why didn't you buy a Porsche? Why didn't you buy some serious power? Why didn't you wait for the new cobra? What's the matter, didn't wanna pay that much?
Wow, there sure are alot of douchebags with GT's that seem to think owning one makes them awesome. It is in no way a reflection of personality. I would own a GT if I wouldn't have to pay 3000 ****ing dollars EVERY SIX MONTHS. So I don't wanna hear it.
I am getting fed up with all this **** about V6 or GT. They are all mustangs. So will ppl shut the hell up about it?
I could care less who has what car and I have no desire to insult anyone who may have a different car than I. IMO, the V6 is just as sexy as the GT. I'm a "more power" nut so that's what drove me to the GT. Does it mean mine is "better"? Hell no! We all have personal choices and real-world reasons as to why we buy what we buy. This is a community of all Mustang owners regardless of what's under the hood and it should not matter what Mustang you have. What's next, in 18 months the GT500 guys saying the GT owners suck?

they aren't hating on the v6. most of the posts i've read are of the GT owners hating on the v6 owners who think they're the hottest shat cause they own an 05. like the power comes from just the body style and always wanna try and show everyone up, but it's a v6!

The hating is not at the V6 or even all V6 owners... The hating is inappropriatlty applied to all V6 owners BECAUSE of the large percenteage of V6 owners that ARE posers and give the V6 a bad reputation in a community of people who are INTO their cars. If your INTO your V6 or Mustangs in general coool... But if your a POSER who is not all about the car... and you drive around in a Mustang cause you THINK YOU ARE IMPRESSING PEOPLE, (GT or V6), then are looked upon with disgust by the REAL Mustang enthusiests...
IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE V6 AND THE V8.
If you own a V6 and are not a poser then it doesnt friggin apply!
Just cause you have a GT doesnt mean your NOT a poser! You could be a poser with more money to burn... (We know you when we see you!)

"HARSH is putting a 4 Banger in a Musting... THAT would SUCK! " I think one of my buddies HAD one of those back in the 80's. To me, both are gonna be a speedy upgrade compared to my 00 Jeep TJ! The hard part will be getting used to clearing speed bumps without a lift kit!
Driving the care pictured below, I would hang my Hooker Header Side Pipes on high-rise speed bumps. It got to be very embarrassing getting out a jack to get your car off of the speed bump. After a few of those I figured out to hit them at an angle.
Be careful lowering your car! And carry a jack around with you after you do!

I don't think that this forum hates on the V6. I think that a few people with the 'holier than thou' attitudes with v8's (irrespective of year) hate on the v6's. I, for one, feel a sense of comraderie with any mustang I see on the road now. I never felt that about a car before and with the mustang, I don't care what year it is or what engine is in it. I have a Windveil Blue Gt that I bought last Friday and I saw a 05 v6 Windveil blue this morning and thought, cool, we have something in common. When the GT500 comes out, I will feel proud as a Mustang owner to have that car as part of the 'family'. Those that have the attitude that they are better then others just b/c they drive one type of car or have a bigger engine is ridiculous. There is always a bigger, more expensive, more luxurious car/engine, etc. It's irrelevant to a feeling of enjoyment in one's own car.
I love my car. I am adding things to my car. I enjoy speaking with others about their car, v6 or v8. I enjoy getting compliments from v6 owners and non-mustang owners. I compliment them on their choice of the mustang. It looks good, it's relatively inexpensive, and even in the v6 form it is quick.
Those that have the problem, have it with the driver, not the car. Hating a fellow mustang is disrespectful to the 'family' of owners. Again, hate the driver, not the car.
...stepping gingerly off soap box...

Hey, I bought a V6 Vert and extremely happy with the horsepower. I owned a 1970 Grande with a stock 302 and frogged quite a few 350's in the day. Does that mean my '70 wasnt a Mustang because is wasnt a Boss? By the way. Of course I wouldnt gotten a GT if money was no object. But It is and I am proud to own a Mustang once again. Stangs forever!!!! Camaro and Firechicken never!
