Wow why would you want to get a Challenger that will be more than likely be more expensive and not be able to do the 1/4 as fast as the GT can do it? Why are all of these new cars so heavy? Don't they use lightweight materials and yet the cars are heavier than they were back in the 60"s. What good is having all that HP if your going to weigh it down like that? YOU LISTENING GM?!?!?

+1 on the weight!  Its doesnt sound like the Challenger will be much of a "challenge" for Mustangs if thats what an SRT8 is packin'.

And that Challenger is HUGE, check the length is that right 10 inches longer?
Big, heavy, slow and $$, I'm sorry I dont see this working for Dodge, too bad cuz it looks great.

And +1 on GM as well.  The new Camaro looks heavy and it sounds like a vast majority will be V6s, albeit 280+hp V6s, so maybe not much of a challenge there either.  I realize GM will have a high HP Camaro that will be a monster, but sounds like they will be as common as an SRT8.

If there's any truth to the rumors that the '10 Mustang will feature a lighter weight 5.0 w/ somewhere close to 400 HP then I am sure that it will be more than able to keep up with the Challenger and the Camaro. The camaro doesn't look like it's that much lighter than the challenger. The Mustang is going to have at least a 500 lb. advantage in the weight department. It's going to be very interesting to see how this all plays out.

I was originally gonna try and convince my dad to get one of these,  but after reading that article probably not gonna now, Although the price on STR8 is good...until the dealer probably asks for 60 for it.  Looks nice though

In my opinion the new Challenger does an excellent job of replicating it's original 60's look.
Its a perfect balance of new and old. I have to give Dodge props for that but I agree LT1runner. Why have the horsepower that no one even wants to pay for anymore? Gas being as highly priced as it is.

Mustang on the other hand gives you V6-V8 options, depending on how much you want to spend. (plus the Challenger would never beat a stang at the 1/4 mile.)
