No matter what options you pick, it says that it's selling at sticker on average. Are they right?

It seems that this is an MSRP/Invoice pricing site, even the report doesn't seem that it is giving anything other than MSRP information. It could be that there is not enough data for accurate pricing (since the 08 model is so new) or that it can not incorporate dealer markup.

It isn't correct!
It just shows MSRP for everything as the price in my area and we all know that's not likely. I bet because people are paying more than MSRP that it just defaults down to that price.

Although I've been looking for only a few days, two dealers that have one in stock are asking from 2K to 10K over sticker.[:@]I'd like to know how to get one for MSRP or less?

Not for me! Just came back from my local dealer as he just got one in stock. The salesman says "let me go find out what our usual markup is". He comes back and says "I won't beat around the bush, we usually start at 10K above and our bottom line is 5K over" I said, "I'll pay what the sticker says and we'll do the deal right now" He said five over is the lowest they'll go and I said a dealer south of here is starting at two over and he says " well if I were you, I'd go buy it right away for only 2K over". I offered the dealer that wants 2K over, MSRP but he hasn't got back to me yet.

I just finished shopping for a new 2008 Ford ShelbyGT500 coupe.
I sent emails to all Ford dealers, within a 200 mile radius of my home on the Eastern Shore of MD, as listed on http://www.fordvehicles.comTherefore, my search encompassed MD, DE, PA, NJ, VA and DC.
In my emails, I offered MSRP, plus tax and tags only. In other words, no additional dealer processing fees, etc.
I found 4 dealers, with GT500's in stock, willing to sell for MSRP; but, not a penny less. They were Preston Ford, Preston, MD; Norris Ford, Baltimore, MD; Bob Bell Ford, Glen Burnie, MD and Frederick Ford, Seaford, DE.
I bought my preferred color, and options, at Frederick Ford, a couple of days ago.
I love it. :)

Well after two weeks of phone calls and emails I couldn't take it anymore. Finally decided I only wanted one in black then I get an email from the dealer who wanted 2K over MSRP asking if I'd still be interested if he let me have it for MSRP. Unfortunately that was for a white one. It was hard to say no. Found one in black today and took it for 1500 over sticker. picking it up this weekend. If anyone is in the central Virginia area and wants a white one, PM me and I will let you know the dealer that will let it go for sticker.

Around my area dealers are still listing ridiculous markups over the MSRP's. It's very difficult to pay sticker for one, let alone the bump too.

Been looking here in NJ and have contacted a few dealers.
Right now still at $10k over from one dealer willing to order one the way I want it.
I will wait a bit longer for MSRP here. If I get an '09 so be it.

Here in CT I found 3 dealers that had 1 in stock each, they wanted 10 - 14k over sticker. I could have had one for around 9k over sticker but 56k for a new car was hard for me to deal with.
If I could have gotten one for 40 - 45k I would have done it.
Instead I purchased a 2008 GT Conv Premium. With some simple modifications I might get around 340 - 360HP,a lot less then the GT500 but good enough for me for now.

You should go for it if you can find one at sticker price. I paid more than 20K over that when I got mine and never regretted it. I had a modded GT with a vortech and gears etc at the time and it didn't compare to the Shelby. The 500 is a wonderful car and a freaking bargain if you can find one at sticker. You'll see what a mean when you drive one.
I wouldn't spend too much time trying to nickle and dime under MRSP. You'll just miss out on precious time with your baby.:D
