well a 390 is a great motor, but its expensive to mod and make real fast.  the 460 is a great platform for a motor, I wish you luck.

the 390's are scarce any more and ih8chevy is right that bbf's don't get much backing or advertisement as the bbc.
and while i am at it one thing that makes me sick to my stomach is the hybrid foxes runnin sbc's under the hood .if you want to build a sbc run it in a monza or vega or camaro or some **** like that not in a ford , and i feel they are played out in hot rods as well, nothin worse than looking at a beautiful 32 ford and seeing a bow tie engine in it , all just because you can get a cam from a vending machine at odd lots for 2.99 and it will ru ya for a min. i think absolutely sucks .
i feel if you are going to redo a specific vehicle make you should stick with their power plant jmo.

haha thats awesome, there was a guy who put a 351 cleveland in a 80 trans am and would beat up the chevy guys all the time and they would get real pissed.  back in the day dandy dick landy put a big in hemi in a 63 vette, that got a lot of attention from the bowtie nuts especially when it won the all chevy show it was at.

stick well u could use a tko5 or 600 i believe and obviously a toploader

auto a c6 will work very well if you want to use a c4 all u need is a bellhousing and some beefed up parts.
