i have been noticing that there have been alot of people posting that they have a miss at higher rpms and it always seems it happens right after they wash down there engine bays
a few tips that i have gathered for washing it down with out hurting anything are
1. cover up the Coil On Plug's with a rag 2. cover up the altenator with a plastic bag or something similar 3. cover up the air filter with a plasic bag or something similar 4. cover up the battery wit some sort of plastic 5. cover up the fuse box with a plastic bag or something similar 6. after covering up these componants take some degreaser and spray down the whole engine 7.once you have the degreaser on take a finger nail brush or something like that and scrub the entire area 8. when running water over the engine bay make sure the engine is not hot 9. use as little water as possible to prevent water from getting were it can hurt something 10. top it with an engine detailer (i like to use CD2)
here is picture i have circled of the areas that need to be covered in yellow
if anyone has any other tips feel free to share them and i can add them to this (pic thanks to sitnlopro's gallery pics)

Alleluyah! Nice post. What kind of degreeser do you recomend? Last time I used anything was 10 years ago. It was that Gunk stuff w/ a pink foam and it made my white paint pink.

You shoudl change the name of the title to "How to: Wash your engine"... it will probably be more noticeable.
Otherwise, thanks for this. I didn't cover anything up but the filter but I did spray around the eletrical stuff but still... thanks to this I should be able to do this again without almost stalling my car when starting up after washing it LOL.

Too much work done with the exhaust. It's time to move on. It's time to move on...
I think alot of people have fried a coil pack buy trying to keep there ride clean. this is good info for anybody with a mustang. i like to use simple green, a couple of clean rags and do it buy hand.
Good tips. Last time I tried this was after I replaced my intake manifold. Messed up the whole car. I haven't done it since, and it shows. I'm still a little scared to do it.
