I have a Black/Silver SGT and I am looking for advice on wash/wax materials.  My uncle has have 5 different black Vette's and swears by Adams Buttery Wax.  I have had a black truck in the past and used McGuires Gold Medal which worked well but was not the easiest to use.  Any input?  Also, to avoid the spider-webbing from washing does any one have any advice for wash material (micro-fiber, sponge)?

Well I tried the Adams Buttery Wax and used the micro fiber cloth to apply and remove and all I can say is WOW!  I don't know how this looks on other colors but the depth of the shine it gives to black is amazing.  If is definately worth trying.

Thanks for your input.

I was at the Barrett-Jackson auction this past weekend and saw many of the classic cars using Mothers products.  They looked great!

Just got mine done with meguires tech wax 2.0 and I am happy with the results. I use a micro fiber cloth, and in between I use Ice detailer.

Sorry it took so long for the pics.  The weather in Michigan did not cooperate.  These are three car washes after waxing.

Zaino, I think is the best product.  Have tried them all.  It is by far the most expensive and they constantly improve it.
Mothers would be a close second though.  Mequire's was nice but had a lot of residue.  You really have to work Mequire's more than Mothers and Zaino well no residue, which is always a big plus.

it's not the wax that gives the shine. it's all in the prep work

after you clay you're going to want to add in a polish to bring out the depth and wetness, as well as eliminate some of your swirls/imperfections, after that then you're going to want to use a topper wax. might i suggest obsessive detail's "Wet obsession". a decent over the counter wax would be meguiar's nxt 2.0

Sorry OT but where in MI? You going to the MF meet and greet in June? Anyway I use Meguiars products and a D/A polisher. I clay once or twice a year and use a car duster and quik detailer for touch ups (pretty much after anytime it comes out of the garage....)...   J
