Hey guys, I've always been pretty noobish when it comes to car audio.  I was thinking about getting http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/products/product_details.asp?cat_id=3&series_id=33&family_id=28&item_id=91967&locale=en_US&p_status= (not at that price) for the front.  I had some rockford components in my last car and they sounded pretty good (6x9's), so I'm just looking for some opinions.

Thanks!

Can't go wrong with MB Quart or Eclipse. I sell RF also, but a bigger fan of the others.

thanks for the input, i've since found the power series and have been chewing over that component set, and the 6.8's for the back.  I went to an audio place out here and listened for a bit.  they sounded good, but weren't exactly the set up I was looking to buy.  More thinking to do, I'll probably make a purchase tomorrow.

you will have to do some cutting to put 6 x 9's in to get just a little better sound then the stock 5 x 7's.  I would not do it myself.

I just sent my order through for http://www.buy.com/prod/rockford-fosgate-t1682s-6-x8-2-way-component-system/q/loc/111/203314983.html after reading some good things from them, and enjoying my previous punch system.

My question now is what size/type/whatever amp should i get for these and the power series 6x8's that are going to go on the back deck?

thanks for the help guys.

oh...do most of you mount your amps on the back of the rear seats?  I know a lot of people do, but I was wanting something else...just don't know what.

If you are running them in the rear without upgrading your front stage I would stay far away from amping them. Running them in the front will yield a much better sound stage if you haven't upgraded up front!

If you are running them in the front the best amp depends on your budget.

I'm going to run them in the front, and replace the rears with the power series 6x8's to keep everything together.  I'm looking for an amp to hook 'em all up to, and I don't want to pick something out that sucks but price is something I'd like to keep in mind too.  What's a good price range to get decent/good sound?

My personal amp experience has ranged in price from profile to diamond audio. I personally would only amp the fronts, but I don't even run rear speakers in my cars. A properly powered front stage will get plenty loud and the the rears should not be noticable.

Something like this would be fine.
