TY Tigercat for the reply, I found SK sockets in stock at Sears of all places. So when the plugs show up, I will give it a shot, (May the Mustang gods be with me!!)
Has anyone have any comments on how the Champion plugs perform??
I all ready ordered a 9/16 sps also a SK thats all I could find up here in the great white north or pay big bucks for snap on ps: I hate chinese tools garbage! A regular deep socket don't chance it as I had to be carefull and also pull the plugs out with a needle nose!

Has anybody else purchased a set of the Brisk Racing Silver plugs? I just did and I was wondering how they perform.
I went and pulled one of the old plugs out to see if there will be any problems but with only 1K miles on the car, there were none and no carbon build up. I'll do the swap tomorrow so I'll post an update then.
Anti sieze will only buy you a little extra time.... it should be done but it isn't a fix in a bottle.

You don't know that for a fact. It's gonna take someone like myself who pulled the plugs at 96,000 miles and put factory plugs with antiseize on the shields back in another 100,000 miles to see if the antiseize truly works. Until then, your statement is just an opinion. And...I ain't gonna kiss your arse <---Ghey.

Personally, I'm ditching the two piece design for the Champion one piece design. I have an 08 GT and NO they did not put anti-seize on the plug from the factory. Mine was built in 9/07 and has the revised 10-bolt valve cover with the old style two-piece plugs.
I highly doubt anti-sieze will hold up for 100,000 miles or longer than 15K miles for that matter. It's a brushed on material that is exposed to a high temp, high swirl, environment. There's nothing 'gluing it' to the spark plug.

Please excuse me if I have already posted this, but I installed the Champions almost a month ago and they are performing great. I couldn't be any happier. Not worrying about breakage in the future? Priceless.

If somone with 110K miles sucessfully removed them at home, I tend to agree with LX that maybe they should just be left alone until it's necessary to deal with them. Heck, I may not even own the car anymore at that point, and someone else can deal with it.
If you consider the situation that the plugs are going to be as hard to remove at 50K as 100K, there is not point rushing the procedure. Perhaps by 100k Ford will have taken full responsibility for the problem, and you can just bring the car in and let them dealt with any breakages on their dime.
After reading this enire thread.......I AM NEVER CHANGING OUT MY PLUGS! This is my 1st Ford too. I dont really understand why people are removing there plugs so early. Preventive maintenance can go a long way but are you really sure you will have your car 10 years from now. I would think stock sparks will last until 80000???? In this case, it seems like overkill to remove the plugs just to apply antisieze & potentially prevent something 10 years later. I dont understand why the factory doesnt use antisieze on an alluminum head!

80k in 10 years equates to 8k per year. Keep in mind that there are people that put on 3 times that or more miles per year, so they could be looking at 80k+ in 3 years.
In my case I don't put many miles on my GT, but I do plan on keeping it for many years, so I felt "an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure", as the saying goes.

Wow...I just bought my 05 GT and as usual when I buy a car I like to change out things to give it a fresh start as the new owner. The car has 26000 Km on the clock and I wa just thinking of changing the plugs when I saw this thread. I just finished skimming and reading through all 12 pages. Great info here. I am very mechanically minded and along with my friends have built a few classic muscle cars over the years.
From what I gather from the TSB and reading other posts is to take it slow and be patient and you may/maynot have any problems what so ever doing this. When backing out the plug if you feel resistance turn it in that 1/4 turn then slowly back it out again. Slow and steady wins the race my freinds.
I would not feel threatened by this but then again thats just me.
I changed out my plugs and put in the Champion 7989 which are running awesome. Read the threads on what to gap the plugs to those plugs work very well. My stang is an 2006 with 18,000 miles on it. Only one need a little extra help coming out, the other seven plugs came out without a hitch. Follow the directions as all of these threads have stated, use the penetrating oil while the engine is warm and they come out beautifully! No power increase but you get piece of mind.
