well i know this isnt in the right spot but god knows no one will respond anywhere else so i got a rock chip on my roof then it became a blister which inturn got water under it and it froze so now i have a big f''''''n piece of paint missing from my roof.  I dont want the sun to eat through the primer too much more so im gonna sand it down and primer and repaint that spot with a spray can of touch up but soon i plan on paintin the top half of the car black........how much do you guys think just the roof alone will cost to paint if i do the priming and most of the prep work????   ohh n im gonna paint the roof and c-pillars in 2 different stages cause i dont have all the money but not so far apart that it fades

srry for the length im just really pissed about this i have a damn fist of paint missin from my stang

I don't know about the roof, but they want to rip me for a body kit. It's new and ready to be painted and they are asking like $1500. Because like they said "theres always some extra work to do, priming and preparation." When I told them that theres nothing to prepare because the kit is brand new and ready they droped to $500. So I don't realy know what to do now. Back to your roof...you should do some good research before you get it painted, because they are all cheaters, and will do anything to get your buck. One more thing, when you ask them for the price if they look up at the ceiling and start thinking, know they are full of s*** and get out of there!

Why dont you just look for a touch-up paint at auto-zone or something?

You should figure $350 to $500 for a complete repair on your roof. Only do the prep work yourself if you know correct procedures and products to use. Ask your friends and family or an insurance agent for shop recommendations. Not  ALL shops rip off their customers!
