*side note* i went and drove a C6 coupe not vert but cloe enough, i was impressed with the steady pull, but does not have the seat of the pants feel of a termie....
Its called refinement and since your lower to the ground it gives you that illusion.......Do 130mph in a C6 it feels like 90mph....Do it in a Mustang/Cobra and it feels like 130mph..

no it doesn't, even in my wifes g6 i can do over 90 and feel like i am at 70. you ever own a termie?

No, But I own a new edge Gt and it can do 130mph....Yes the Cobra has a better suspention and a more powerful drivetrain than a GT, but the chassis is not as refined as a Corvette for high speed runs......Have you driven a late model Corvette? ..........If your going to argue the refinement of a Corvette and say that a Cobra is on even keel than I'm done with this argument

nope i have never had a corvette and don't claim to know how they drie, but i can tell you from my own expierience that the cobra will go alot faster than it feels. i would never have felt comfortable taking any of my other cars to the speeds i have gone with the cobra simply because it felt way to fast. i have buried th eneedle and then some on the 160mph speedo in the cobra and it feels nice an smooth the whole way. termie> non-zo6 vette all day in my book. but if you like the vette thats your choice to each his own.
All of you need to go drive a Termi, then try and post about how they dont pull above 120 or at high speeds. Id put my money on the Termi any day.
I will reiterate this...USMCrebel stated that the C6 pulled hard, but it did'nt have the "seat of the pants" fell of the Termie....Now we all know that stock for stock a C6 is faster than A Cobra.....The numbers are all over the place by ppl that have dragged these cars and a C6 has bested faster times....So when he made his comment I mentioned about the refinement issue....But I guess that is'nt jiving with you? So whats your theory? Now if either car he drove was modded, then this point is mute...
C5Z06>C6>Cobra...If top speed is mentioned....Base C6 does 186mph/C5Z 180mph/Cobra low 170's..

what kind of stock 1/4 mile times do the no zo6 run stock? again the car in this race was not stock remember. i jjust know that for about 500 bucks the termie will own the c6 in any race rol or 1/4
What I read is that the termi doesn't pull at higher speeds like a C6 does. 1/4 miles traps are gonna be at or under 120. Im saying a Termi pulls hard up to at least 140 and will beat a stock C6. I dont see all the fuss about how bad azz the C6 is, stock termi is not crazy fast but fast enough to hand with a c6. Ive done it before, I did have a bit smaller pully but walked all over it, bad enough that a stock Termi would have been able to at least hang with the c6

C6-sure refinement can play it parts, and nobody is arguing that a Cobra is more refined than a Corvette. There are a lot of differnet things effecting "seat-of-the pants", like TQ curves, gearing, etc. The Termi has an Eaton strapped between the heads with 3.55's and a close ratio T-56. The Vette- wide ratio T-56 ( or auto) and gear (?) posssilby 2.73's. Not all set-of the-pant is noted at speed of 130 either.

If you think a cai/catback Cobra is going to run with a C6 coupe deep into the triple digits then your living in a pipe dream.....A quartermile run with a cai/catback Terminater against a STOCK C6 up to the quartermile then yes it will be very close.......But after that the Vette will pull...........Besides if you have to modify a car to run with a stocker than the question has already been answered on what is the faster car....Would'nt you agree?

There is no way in hell a C6 or catback/intake Cobra is trapping anywhere near 120mph...You guys need to get your info straight...
With equal drivers it is'nt happening. Handling C6>Cobra...1/4 drag C6<>Cobra w/ cai and exhaust....Top end C6>Cobra w/ cai and exhaust..Kind of premature to evaluate a car because you edged out/smoke an old geezer that does'nt know how to drive anymore than he could distinguish the difference between a Corvair/Corvette ...What size pulley was your "bit smaller pulley" by the way?

Exactly. Stock vs Stock, the C6 is faster in the 1/4 and on top end (not that anyone actually races to +170mph). From what I've seen, the C6 is at least 2-3 tenths faster and way more consistent with it's ETs (showing that refinement). The C6 is faster and more refined, therefore justifying the price tag.
Termie trapping 120mph......uhhh, no. Try 110 mph. C6 run 12.5 and trap 113 or better, I'm pretty sure that's what I witnessed anyway. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that's a little more accurate than 120.

i would argue that, yes vette the is far more refined, not to my taste, im a glutton for harsh feel :)
I like it too. I like it when the back of my car squats everytime I punch it and shoves me into the seat. That lack of refinement just starts to suck when the triple digits start creeping by and I have to put the death grip on the wheel.

I can imagine on how the steeper gearing with the great low end torque of a Terminater must feel...
Base six speed auto C6's have the shallow 2.56 gearing thats ideal for high speed runs....The lightweight really makes up for the shallow gearing on launches though...350ft lbs. of TQ to the wheels is'nt that bad though..

I'd imagine that if the C6 had anything steeper than a 2.56 on top of 350rwtq and being lightweight, it would turn the car into a burnout machine. The Termie has got to be a bitch to launch with that instant torque, 3.55 gearing, IRS, and most of the weight on the front. Totally different cars, that's for sure.
