that's kinda a wide spread of choises . now I voted for the 429 olny kause I olny get 1 vote . if I voted small block it would of bin 351C no doubt .
the clevland is the best engin out of all of them over 6000 RPM . but what is your plans for this pump is it a cruser , strip olny , something to show off on sunday afternoon .
If it is not all out race engin I love the 429with a CJ head great all around engin + big block power rules .
I have yet to see a clevland with 4V heads do good at a 3k RPM cruse I am shure it can be done but I did not earn the supper tuner title yet .. so
You are right. But how many regular members do we have here who post daily? Obviously, the big block will give you more muscle, but for sprint and drag racing, the small block 351C will outclass them in the quarter. Now, prove me wrong.
I'm putting a 5.0 in my 71 fastback. It originally had a 351M and had a 302 when I bought it, still has. I had a block and most of the parts, and I figured I do that simply because of the high number of aftermarket possibilities.

Now, you have your head screwed on straight. The M was in trucks. The 302, 351W and 351C are good motors for aftermarket parts. The 5.0 also has lots of possibilities for aftermarket parts. The big blocks parts are few and far between, so if you are looking for the future of your engine, the small blocks are the way to go. my 2-c
I have a 351 C in mine, But I love the 429. Build what you have or can afford. My 66 I had a 351 W that run pretty good. It was easy to find parts & mods for it.
