My 87 GT needs a new roof, I seen on ebay they have several vynal (sp) diy kits. I would like a cloth type top but cant really find any. Has anyone put a kit from ebay on their car? Did it look good when done? and was it really hard to do? Im asking because I may order one and would like to know what to expect. Wich material is better? Thanks

Personally. I had to have mine professionally installed because it was a huge 9 hour task for a professional installer and his apprentice. Plus, it still has to be tweaked. You have to wait for the material to stretch and tighten in places, then partially take it apart and reinstall it. It really is a huge undertaking, to do correctly that is. I personally have a top from robbins...which is a cloth material, but its covered in vinyl or whatever.

thanks, I didnt think it would be that hard, but I guess if it takes them 9 hours it may take me 3 days haha. I do like the canvas tops but they cost a little to much. How much was it for the top and installation?
