Default 347 stroker

I'm thinking of doin a 347 stroker on my 5.0, but am uneasy about it. I have been reading alot of **** about how the 347s have an oiling problem. I was wondering if anyone knows about this issue, or if there is any way to fix it. If the oil is a big problem, would a 331 be better?

I hear the problem with the stroker is that the piston pin is moved up so much that the oil ring is not being pushed into the cylnder wall and the motor burns oil bad. The problem wont hurt the car but it will smoke and burn oil. I went the east way out, i Built a 79 351w for my stang and have no problems

the new 347 kits have the oil ring problem fixed, it should say in the kit that it has the redesigned piston. my cousin is running one and has not had any trouble out of it. it runs 6.00 in the 1/8 and has had no problem with it

since i need to get a new block anyway ive been thinking about going the 347 route myself. just not sure about heads, cam, and intake. would afrs, b303 be best for heads and cam? what about intake? from what ive understood the oil problem isnt really an issue now if you get a good kit.

I have been searching also trying to figure out the 331 vs 347 vs 351 deal. I finally decided to go with the 331 with the TFS engine kit. I was concerned about what would happen if I boosted the 347 later on. I'm sure with the correct tune it would have been fine. Just wanted a little more of a margin for error. The deciding factor ended up being the overall cost . I took the cheap route. Even with a thoroughly thought out plan this project's scope and cost are starting to creep. Even if money was no issue...after reading everything i could get my hands on I'd go 331 (boosted).
