I am often curious as to who our members are. This is me working on the Mustang. The other photo is my wife. No, I have no clue why she was willing to marry me 24 years ago and yes, she really is in her mid 40s.My cap covers a mostly bald head. Used to have 20/2400 (yes, twenty four hundred) vision then had laser surgery 10 years ago and now have 20/25 vision so I wear the glasses for eye protection. I am the supervisor of the Electronic Banking Department (internet banking/debit cards)at a regional bank. Anybody else willing to expose themselves...let me rephrase that...anybody else willing to show us who you are?

Great thread. I always wonder who I am talking to. THIS NEEDS TO BE A STICKY!

A little about me: I am 17 and I got my stang about a year and a half ago. I love cars and thats pretty much what I think about almost all the time. I am going to the University of Colorado when I graduate high school to study Mechanical Engineering, and hopefully use the degree to do something awesome in the automotive industry. I also have a 2005 Subaru Legacy GT, which is my daily driver. As you can see in the pics, I love to race my car when I can, and I love offroading (but I have to borrow my brothers xterra for that).

...so they sit in the bed of the truck instead of inside the car?? or is it that you just dont want him driving friends around because of the distraction they cause?

Nineteen66mustang you could tryto goto School of Mines. I am also going through high school for mechanical engineering.

I applied and was accepted to Mines, but decided to choose CU. Evidently mines is best for everything except mechanical engineering, and i guess CU has one of the best schools for that in the area. Also, Mines is really small, really tough, and there are 9 guys to every girl. ya, not cool.

Here is a picture of me with theStang that we restored, we've had it for close to 20 years. We started when I was10 and on my 15th birthday when I came home from school my dad had just finished painting it. Drove it my sophomore, junior and senior year. I am away at college now and it drives me crazy to be five hours away from it.My sister drives it to school some and dad drives it to crusie-in's.

This is a great thread! Some great cars, and It is nice to put a face to people and know a little about them.

I am 48 (Yeah, I know "Old Fart" right?)live in Independence, Missouri (Harry Truman country, not far from his Presidential library).

In my younger days I burned the candle at both ends and lit a bonfire in the middle work wise. I was a restaurant owner, had 2 locations spent lots of hours working and took no vacations for nearly 20 years. Now I have sold out and spend my time workingwith kids (Boy Scouts of America) I have always been in Scouting since I was a Cub Scout but now I can spend my summers working at the localcouncil summer camp (I run a dining hall... what a shock. :))

During the winter my wife and I take 2-3 vacations per year (To make up for all the years we missed) and love to SUBA dive in the Carib.

Wow, thinking about it... no wounder I have had this car for 3 years and am no further along than I am.

Here are some pics, 1st - the "Rustang" arriving and going into the shop at my Dad's place. (Thats the only time I have "Driven" my car, 1.5 mph under the power of the lawn tractor. :( ) Then me with my "Messtang". 3rd -My Wife and I at the peak of Salt Isle. B.V.I. in '06. 4th - We were at "Sunset House" in the Cayman Islands Dec. '07. and finally my Staff giving me a birthday "Surprise" at the H.Roe Bartle Scout Reservation.

Good thread so far. My turn to add, I suppose...

I'm in my early thirties and I do a lot of little things... Mostly, I write romance novels, but I also do specialty costuming, test driving, web analytics and various roles within a design and marketing context. Once upon a time, I was a stagehand and Master Electrician. I helped rewire a theater and about half the lights in it, too!

I've had my '68 fastback since 1993 and during that time, she's only left me stranded twice. I took 4 years of autoshop in college and would much rather figure out how to fix the car than take it to a mechanic who's most likely going to take advantage of a little girl like me. I collect old car magazines from the 60s which also make for great reference material because they explain how the ignition system works, not just what wires go where. I'm the chief mechanic in my household and there's always plenty to be done.

Yes, I have a lot of cars. NO, I'm not rich. I'm basically a junkie! :)

This is me, got my Nazi helmet on too. I always liked Mustangs since I was 8,when Itook my first ride in one, a 428 Mach One of my uncle's. Something about that sound that I still remember today. I grew up in the coal fields and my first job was underground as an repairman/electrician. After about 5 years of dodgingroof fallsand gas explosions, I had a chance to get out and took it. I then became a Paramedic, and workedas a road Medic for about 20 years. I since haveretired and now operate a Nursery and grow about 500,000 plants a year. In the off season, Ibuild or fliphouses. In my spare time, I build or restore Mustangs. So far, I'vehad two cars featured in national magazines. One in 6 and the other in 2.Also two of themmay befeatured on a couple of wellknownTV shows that should air this summer.I enjoy helping others that are new, and are starting into this hobby, so let the fun begin.

I then became a Paramedic, and workedÂ*as a road Medic for about 20 years. I since haveÂ*retired and now operate a Nursery and grow about 500,000 plants a year. In the off season, IÂ*build or flipÂ*houses. In my spare time, I build or restore Mustangs. So far, I'veÂ*had two cars featured in national magazines. One in 6 and the other in 2.Â*Also two of them will beÂ*featured on a couple of wellÂ*knownÂ*TV shows that should air this summer. I enjoy helping others that are new, and are starting into this hobby, so let the fun begin.

Yep, I have 10 in the barn now. 9 Classics and one Fox body that I just bought for my son, if he straightens up. TheTerlingua clone (in the photo)has been in 6 different magazines such as Mustang Times, Mustang and Fords, Southern Rodder,Ford Builder and a couple more, often a private entity will shoot the car, and it will be published insister magazines (thats why you sometimes see the same car in different magazines). The E has been in MustangLife and was shot for another Mustang magazine and should come out any time. Also it was used by Pennzoil for one of their displays. I'm not sure I can give a "heads up" on TV showsuntill they are scheguled later on this year. Its all in the fun of it.

Don't forget Mustang Monthly! Also, his Eleanor was an invitational car at Carlisle 2007 All-Ford Nationals. Don't you have to shoot the TV stuff before it can air?!!!????:D

"03Mach69Mach" just had a his beautiful 69 Mach One featured on Well known TV show. The car looked great (him, hmmmmmm). I'm not sure about the "Size matters" comment though, something about the 428CJ engine, I suppose. Idid edit my post from "will" to "may", and that is a better term to usefor now. "will" is the correct term if everything goes as planned,"may" isbetter term if something fallsapart, and it don't happen. I stand corrected.

Well from Tacoma, WA andmy dad and I own a steel/stainless/aluminum company. Not terribly large but it's fun. Anyway, while my buddies have been into imports, I for some reason have wanted a '66 coupe since middle school and jumped at the chance this last decemeber. My fiancee just beat leukemia and also has been wanting a classic so we pulled the trigger on this one here.

Nice collection "evil" Say, we have more in common than just our reference material. I rode the rigs for about 10 years myself, let the lic. run out when they started really making it hard to keep up with re-cert. (Worked mostly Vol. and had no agency to pay for the classes). Man, that was.... a long time ago.

"Interwest" - Nice car, even if you had to return to work I hope the cancer stays on vacation! - You make a great looking couple, good luck.

Beautiful Car. I took my bride to our senior prom in one just like that (same color, vinyl top but had the 200 6-cylinder & 3-spd). Miss that car. Would love to find one like that (let me know if you ever want to sell it!!). Great news for your bride to be!

i just finished the short block last week im just waiting for my oil pan. and im trying to save up some money for my heads and carb and ill be ready to throw it on our dyno. and i started doin some body work last night and i was telling my friend about it and he sold me a brand new passenger fender ready for paint no bondo for $100 :D. it was a steal. once my motors done i gotta get my tranny rebuilt and then paint. after my motor/tranny and paint ive gotta get an interior kit and i should be about done with the major stuff.

i prefer to think of my car as a "beast" instead of "girl". idk i just dont like it when someone names their car a girl. seems to sissy for me [8D].

It was really a great truck. I did the body work and painted it and then sold it when I joined. Ive got two great Kids (2 and 5) and a great wife that lets me spend money on an un-needed car just because she knows that I really like to work on it.. Born and raised in Louisiana and Stationed in San Diego right now.. I also play the drums and guitar..

Hi everyone,

I just joined the forum and I needed some advice from other 'daily drivers'. I am almost at the end of restoring my 1966 coupe, and I need to get her insured so I can get her on the road. Does anyone have recommendations for a good insurance company that covers daily driven classic cars? She is absolutely gorgeous and I need a lot of reassurance! I don't have a garage but I live in asafe neighborhood and I'll only be driving her about 5 miles a day to work and back.

Help please! :D

the plan was to make it a project and retore it so i could drive it by the time i was 16.

but life happens and the plans didnt work out right.

and now...IT FOR SALE. but anyways. yeah i worked a whole summer. had 7 yards a week that i cut for 50 dollars a pop and detailed cars for about 30 a pop. took me about four five months. but i stumbled across this one. and its my favorite body style and it was mach. so i couldnt pass it up.

This is me. I'm 38 years old and live in a van down by the river. Just kidding. I live in a house in Kansas.

I'm the one sitting on the fender. This was taken after my brother and I finished putting the intake manifold back on the 66 Coupe. Our other two brothers (the two that didn'tcome out right) are outside playing their banjos.

Hopefully tonight I can get the brakes bled and drive it around a bit to test out the rebuilt carb and new rear springs. Then I can get it registered on Friday. But that is hopefully.

but yeah my close friends dont poke fun. but when i meet people they will let it slip. but i always correct people and make them feel bad the moment they let it slip.

asctually whats funny is that ive only ever met one other marco besides you. and i met him on a forum as well! its the florida jeep forum. he actually lives in Northern Italy and drives a Jeep. my mom is from italy and all four of my grandparents are from the same town in sicily.

Well this is me and the woman...I'm 37 and had 3 mustangs in high school. My ex wife pressured me to sell my 66 several years ago and I have been wanting one again. So I sold the ex and picked me up at 65 coupe for $300 bucks. I'll be posting some pics of the car soon as I get started on it.

OK. I'll jump in. I'm on the left.

After 16 years of posting on many forums under as many s/ns, I decided to use my real name and image here (I've never done that before). What the heck. I can't get spammed anymore than I am now anyway (anybody want some cheap Canadian meds? I have a link, lol).

I'm a restauranteur from Santa Monica, CA, originally from NYC. My wife of 25 years, Barbara Ann (pictured) is a professional singer/actress, and Debbie is my first car. I learned to drive when I moved to CA at the age of 32.

I'm the second owner and bought a completely original running '69 Grande junker in 1991 for $500. I did my own body-off restoration with the help and knowledge I got from some great people I met at the now defunct Pacific Mustang Club. Debbie has been my daily driver for 17 years.

what a cool story, did you not learn to drive because you lived in NYC?
Exactly.

I grew up seeing people in cars thinking I would never be one. When I moved to CA, I realized I would HAVE to have a car, and it was very exciting. I joined a Mustang club and made buddies with the club technician, who owned 33 stangs in various stages of condition, from a trophy winning '65 GT to junkers. He restored and sold them for a living. He showed me a lot, and I would trade out labor for the stuff I didn't know how to do. IOW, I would change out a water pump in a 66 while he rebuilt my carb. Stuff like that. I wound up working on dozens of classic stangs for years, and restoring my own car at the same time. The original restoration took me 3 years on the weekends. I personally did the drivetrain, suspension, interior, paint, glass etc.

I also had a 1990 5.0 lipstick red convertible but it got totalled by a dentist from Bel Aire who was in a hurry to make a lunch date.

I agree, Lacrosse is awesome, some of my best friends play Lacrosse. If I didnt love baseball so much, I would probably play Lacrosse or Water Polo

I told my wife you were amused by what I posted. I got punched too!

Yeah women are funny.

Me and my wife rolled up into the driveway the other day and I hit the garage door opener. Up rolls the garage door revealing the backend of the 67 fastback.

In my most loving voice I said, "Baby, that things got an ass almost as fine as yours..."

She slugged me.

Now, to my way of thinking a higher compliment would be tough to come by.

She said it was base and common.

Women.

It was my Cousins Daughters birthday party, I am really close to my cousin so they call me Uncle Jim. She turned 1, I am trying to teach her the ways of the mustang at a young age

hey guys! long time no post eh!? my apologies for not being on the forum making stupid posts and redfining the word noob.

but since ive abandoned my home here ive moved to college, joined the ARMY ROTC and picked up one hell of a girlfriend, i successfully blew off the top half of the radiator on my jeep driving through a lake, ive gotten kicked off the UCF lacrosse team, gotten a new job and made excellent friends with the UCF police department.

bottom line?
i miss you guys.

haha well i was being slightly sarcastic. but what had happend was i was dropping my girlf friend off at her dorm which is on campus(i live off campus) it was a little past 12 and my jeep is a really jerky rough ride so i try to make the ride as easy as possible which means trying to avoid stops and starts, so i rolled a right turn where the cop usually sits, turns out i didnt see him cause he was a little to the right and pretty much sat so you didnt see him till half way through the turn,

knowing he saw me i pulled over before he got the chance to even put his car in drive. dumba$$ me left me wallet with my license and proof of insurance at myhouse. but the cop decided to let me go with a verbal warning. other wise he would have had to put me under arrest for driving withough a licesne. and it would have been a mess.

since my jeep is very noticible the cops that know what happened all throw their light bars when i drive past them just to poke fun at me.
