1987 gt, world class t-5 , sub frame tied , strut tower brace ,ud's, clp throttle enhancer,bbk cai,king cobra clutch, jegs hardened fork ,3.73 geared,upr short throw,picking up this weekend is a gt40 intake , gt40p heads , no new cam yet (need a good recomendation)zex 150 wet waiting to go on ,an engine rebuild comeing soon as i get therest of the top end parts , i will problly pull this weekend ,eibac springs,ssm upper and lowers ,koni shocks and struts.
i need some good recomendations on a cam and tb for the gt 40 set up ,i will also be getting a set of flow balanced 19# injectors this weekend . oh the exaust it frpp headers off road h and flowmaster 40's .

since you already have some suspension mods done... get some gears, and sticky tires

Thats next on the list.Dont know if i should go with 4:10's or 3:73's ,what do you guys think i should get?.I cant stick any tires onwiderthen a 225 b/c it will hit my exhaust.Does nitto or M/T make some sticky sticky tires that will fit on my car.

I got my MS stuff in about two weeks ago, but the stuff is still in the boxes.

I swapped the 42lb injectors for some 50's.[sm=lildevil.gif]
All the stuff should be in mid/late April and will begin once it comes in.
I'm thinking 9+ psi. Enough to get me to my goal 400-475whp.
I need a 255 fuel pump too what do you guys recommend?
I don't want it to be too loud...sleeper.

The engine is a stock 5.0 TB to Oil Pan.

are you gonna run an external fuel pump onit ?there has to be a way to deaden the noise from it if it is on the out side of the tank . and i yeah i agree if you want to spank on someone you don't want them to get any idea as to what you may have lurkin under the hood ;):D

I was hoping for an intank unit but I have no idea what to get all I know is 255lph and it has to be quiet I don't want to hear it wine... :)

wouldn't an insulated fuel cell help keep it quiet? with your notch that would be real easy to install and no one will see the fuel cell, just leave the stock tank on it empty and not plumbed:D;). other than that idk on how you would deaden the sound of the pump.

That would be awesome. Unfortunately this is my DD and I don't really have the funds for that but...I'll keep it as an option after I get this bad boy set up. Only two more weeks. This is driving me insane!!!!

depends on what you want to spend on the heads and intake , the cams are all around the same price . twisted wedge is a good head for sd , of course there isthe gt40 or the gt40p top end . just depends on your budget .

ive been 12.6@109 w/sd(hci na)

i did 7lb centrifcal for friend/customer and it worked great. used fmu and put a check valve from brake booster in vac line to map sensor.

these cars love dry spray, wet stuff seems to puddle in intake and backfire & belch flames, this is bad lol

the cam is the trick, gotta have a good clean vacuum signal

Just got shipped on Friday[May 16] They had about 8 weeks back order.
Its busy as hell over there, tax time.
I got the new fuel pump in. The megasquirt and injectors have been sitting in my room. :(
It should be here within the next two weeks depending on UPS. :D

old car 87 gt owned 97-04, many changes over years,hci, 11.5:1, longtubes, 175shot, stock sd pcm, 24's, rocked out w/its cock out, beat up buddys hci blower car 9psi on motor lol, had t-5 and then c4

new car 88gt brodix, gt40, equal shorties, sd, 24's,aod, its a slob

how are you getting 24's to workon stock sd ? and yeah some of us use stock sd but the modifed after market guys are welcome as well .

the pcm adjusts pulsewidth from o2 readings, it just works. it took along time before i tried but it works. a local tuner told it worked, i was pessimistic, but works really well.my old car was pretty nasty i ran 24's@ 49psi. this car has 24's but aint making as much power so its only 38psi(vac disconnected)

if ya dont need em it might not work but w/good heads and intake when there needed it works and works very well actually

i know 21# will go on the stock sd pcm but the 24'si have seen in them at idle no idel at wot dead on , you have the pcm flashed for them or anything just curious cause if it is that easy to run 24's ima gonna do it .

Well i got the 3.73 gears now i need a Aluminum Driveshaft. Too much
vibration. Aggie.

you gotta add a pinhole to vacuum line for map. 12#'s now. runs good; 12mph in 1/8

Man a Aluminum driveshaft makes all the difference in the world. When i
first got my 3.73 gears installed i had a bad vibration at 50, installed the
new driveshaft and its so smooth no more vibration at least not at 80
LOL. Aggie.

My buddy gave me a set of # 24 injectors to try with the setup
that i have. I installed them last night and let me tell you they
do work just fine, infact they work Great. I felt the difference
right from the start. The only issue i have is that right now it
ideals high at 1000 but theres no surging, i think if i try to
adjust the TPS i might be able to get it down alittle because
the set screw on the throttle body is all the way out now. My
TPS is set at .98/.99 i guess after you start making all the mods factory setting might have to be thrown out the window.

check sig for specs, with bfg drag radials I ran a 8.85 just got a 100 shot for this weekend

Well iam using AFR 165 heads, Cobra intake, 70MM throttle body
BBK EQ LT headers, Mark VIII electric Fan, BBK Under drive pulleys
3.73 gears, Aluminum drive shaft, Billet Adj fuel Reg. My buddy went
with a supercharger on his Mustang so he said try the #24s it only
took alittle over an hour to swap them out. I have the fuel presure
set at 42 it just runs stronger. Just got a MSD dist cap and rotor,
with some Taylor wires. It does idel between 900/1000 with the
eletric fan on low and drops down to 900 on high. This car isnt my
everyday drive so it dosent hurt to experament here and there.

Aggiedog - I like the fact that you kept your engine compartment nice and tidy. Kudos! Did you re-program your PCM or have a chip burned? Also, what do you estimate your HP at? I'm doing research currently on the 5.0 speed density mods. My SVO is SD and produces over 400 BHP, but that is a stand alone PCM. I'm looking to stay around the 290 - 300 HP mark with my 5.0. I love the car as a daily driver and want to keep it that way. As far as mods go with my 88 Coupe, they are as follows:

Maximum Motorsports Road and Track box. (Last week)
Maximum Motorsports Brake upgrade. (Last week)
Mac CAI (Month ago)
Relocated TFI (Month ago)
Fresh Motorcraft tune up with all new sensors (2 Months ago)

I need to recover from the cost of the suspension before I move into the drive train...thus the research part for a while.
